Biot holiday apartment: Biot

Biot can be found nested in the triangle made up of Cannes, Nice and Grasse. And, because of its proximity to the sea, it makes an ideal location for a beach holdiday. Within a half-hour drive, you can easily visit all important sites of the Cote d’Azur. The holiday apartment is located on the ground floor of a three-storey “maison de village”, overlooking the “Verrerie de Biot”. The spacious and quiet square in front is still known under its former name, “Place de l’Airette” which means something like “little resting place”. Even during peak season only a few tourists find their way here to enjoy a glance over the valley and the verrerie. The foundations of the house are sunk into the volcanic rock of the hill, and were originally for a barn, constructed approximately 500 years ago. This explains the unusual thickness of the structural walls, which ensure that the apartment stays pleasantly cool and quiet during the summer months.

The apartment is located just above the old village gate 'Porte de Tines' dating from 1524. The quarter is very quiet as there is no traffic allowed in this part of the village. However its centre can be reached, by foot, within a few minutes. The entrance is located under an archway, from which you enter directly into the living area. The curved walls are quite common in this type of village house and they add to the charm and cosiness of the apartment. Two 2 bedrooms are located on the upper floor, they are both equipped with double beds (160cm). There is an alcove, beside the staircase, where 1 spare mattresses can be placed to provide an extra bed for occasional use. Maximum capacity is 5, comfortable capacity 4 people. The bathroom is equipped with bathtub, toilet, wash basin and bidet. There is an open space protected by the archway just in front of the entrance, which can be used to put up some chairs and a table. So you can easily take your 'Apero' or enjoy your dinner outside
