Beautifully renovated holiday home in North-Western part of the island, a few minutes away from one of the island’s most beautiful sandy beach known only to the locals. Sleeps 4 in comfort and style. Sea views. 2 double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, sitting room, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, outside dining room, delightful garden with mosaic freshwater swimming pool. Large sun terrace on roof equipped with sunbeds and parasols. Sea views on 3 sides. Laundry facilities, cable TV, stereo, telephone, the house is fully equipped with linen and towels (bath, pool and beach). Selmun beach is 15 minutes walk through farms and vineyards or 3 minutes by car. The walk 'up' from the beach may take most mortals a little longer.

Chance House - a great place

We, a family of four (incl. two teenagers) found Chance House an ideal base to discover the islands of Malta and Gozo during our two-week stay in October 2009. Far enough away from the urban crowds around Valetta, but – naturally in Malta – close enough to all attractive places, and in walking distance to all supplies at Mellieha needed for daily life (grocery, bakery, fruit shop, big screen TV pub for football matches…). And just 7-10 min away from the Gozo ferry by car.
The house itself is very well equipped and maintained. Its location is superb - with vistas over St. Paul's Bay on the east coast and a view reaching Ghajn Tuffieha Bay in the west. The “green” courtyard comes as a real surprise, and the pool is a lure, even in October. Unusual, but very welcome features of this holiday home are for example a good library of books and paperbacks, WiFi access, shopping baskets, a start-up grocery kit (taking out the hassle on the day of arrival) and a phone card. But the most impressing features of Chance House are the people: Both the owners as well as the caretakers give you the feeling of being welcome guest, not just tenants. This even becomes evident in small details (examples already mentioned by previous reviewers), in a very well organized pre-stay information package, in the personal communication and in the preparedness to respond to individual needs/wishes.

first French family in the Pink House

If you like a swimming pool when temperatures flirt with 40 degrees every day, if you're looking for a basecamp to tour the Maltese island (their breathtaking cliffs, diving spots, ancient and recent History), if you feel like going to the beach in no time, if you enjoy extensive views over the Mediterranean, if you're a TV-addict, if you'd rather play farniente by the pool, if you fancy eating typical Maltese meals (preferably with rabbit) prepared in a fully equipped kitchen; if you want to know how large a bedroom can be, if you appreciate people ready to help you with anything (from the maintenance of the swimming pool to the watering of the many flowered garden or to the replacing without notice of a failing bulb), you can go to a five star hotel... or you can choose Chance House

Chance House provided us with a fabulous holiday where we wanted for nothing.The house comes fully equiped , nice and bright and - could be home from home plus the Sun and Pool.
The local Bakers (naughty but nice ) and the local shops provided all key requirements.
I would recommend Chance house for a great get away in Malta.

What an exceptionalplace to stay

This is an amazing place to stay. One of exceptional quality, the pictures do not do the place justice. In reality it has everything you could possibly want. Maintained and cleaned to the highest standard, with friendly customer service and support throughout our stay.

We especially liked the external courtyard dining area and of course the children loved the pool.

The instruction pack you receive when you book, is excellent and very detailed.

Getting around is very easy, with or without a car as you have easy access to bus routes to get anywhere on the island.

Mellieu Bay and Beach is a 20 minute walk and a fantastic sandy beach.

We will certainly return to Chance House and will be recommeding it to all our friends and work colleagues as value for money.

The Pink House

My wife and our two sons had a very enjoyable week at Chance house at the end of May 2009, the property is exactly as described and is very comfortable and well equipped.
The owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with and the property was very clean with a very helpful and friendly local couple on hand who look after the house on behalf of the owners.
The situation is just right for sight seeing trips around the island and is a few minutes, by car from the Gozo ferry.
Although a car is very useful, it is not essential as there are excellent bus connections to all parts of the island.
We would very much recommend the "Pink House" and will almost certainly be paying a return visit.
