This apartment is ideal for winter and long term lets as it has all the comforts and amenities of your own home with the added benefit of a heated indoor swimming pool and private gymnasium. Long term winter lets available at discount rates (electricity will be metered and charged separately). Bookings not accepted if all members of the party are under 25 years of age. A complimentary meet and greet service at the apartment is included. Details on airport transfers & car hire available on request. Changeover day is Saturday during the High / Peak season June to Sep but other days will be considered if booking calendar allows. At all other times changeover day is flexible. The apartment will be available from 2pm on day of arrival and should be vacated by 10am on day of departure. Any reasonable variations on these timings where other booking commitments allow will be accommodated.

Eating Out and In

You will never be short of options for dining out during your stay. Within the nearby Marina there is a range of cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes and pockets, from snacks to traditional Portuguese cooking and even a Chinese restaurant and Pizza Hut, both of which do takeaways. Once in the heart of Lagos town you really will be spoilt for choice with a variety of restaurants serving fresh fish and seafood of the day, as well as the many bistros and pavement cafes where the value for money will impress! If dining alfresco on the balcony or in the cool of the apartment, plenty of local fresh produce is readily available. Lagos fish and fruit/vegetable market opens daily and there are many supermarkets within minutes of the apartment, offering everything you need inc.fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish, meat, wines and a bakery. Why not try some of the local food such as chicken piri-piri, Cataplana of meat or fish or my personal favourite, Peixe Espada. Delicious!!!

Local Activities and Sightseeing

Nearby Luz is an excellent place to learn to dive with its PADI certificate diving school and is on the edge on of the regions largest Nature reserves Costa Vicentina. For those who love the countryside Horse Riding is nearby. Lagos also has a cinema with some of the latest films shown in English or visit the Governor's Castle and Old Fortress, Lagos Museum or the old slave market to view art exhibitions. During the summer season there are frequent concerts at the amphitheatre close to the old town walls. Alternatively the Algarve shopping centre is approx. a 30 minute drive away featuring many known European brands, plus a bowling alley, 10 screen cinema and food court. About 40km inland is the Scenic Monchique Mountain range & beautiful old spa town of Cladas de Monchique. Right along the western coast at the tip is Cape St Vincent and its lighthouse with magnificent views originally thought to be the end of the world.

Lagos Beaches

Meia Praia or São Roque - This broad expanse of sand stretches for 4 km (2.5 miles) and offers all kinds of facilities for those who enjoy water sports. On the isthmus of the Alvor bar stands Meia Praia fort, which defended Lagos bay in the 17th and 18th centuries. Historians say that it was off these beaches that the galleons carrying the treasure of Moctezuma, an Aztec emperor captured by the soldiers of Herman Cortez, were shipwrecked in 1522. Batata, Estudantes, Homers, Pinhão, Dona Ana and Camilo - Sandy coves tucked between brightly coloured cliffs, these beaches include some interesting rock formations. Calm and clear water. Many believe these to be the most delightful beaches in the Algarve. Canavial and Porto de Mós - Long beaches between cliffs. Tourist facilities. Luz - A tourist centre with a cosmopolitan flavour. Large beach. Dona Maria - A calm and isolated beach

There is plenty of room in the apartment for clubs and the secure, underground parking and modern lift system make getting clubs in and out of the car and apartment easy. With over 30 courses in the region you will be spoilt for choice. Here is a brief description of just of few. 1- PALMARES GOLF- 2km east of Lagos - 18 Holes - par 71. This course has views of the bay & historical town as well as Monchique mountains to the north, using its natural resources to maximum advantage. 2 - BOAVISTA GOLF - 18 Holes - par 71. This impressive championship course offers a number of tee options, challenging for all levels of golfers with the ocean visible from most of the holes. Water comes into play on 5 holes. 3 - PENINA GOLF - 18 Holes - par 73. This championship course was the first built in the Algarve in 1966 and has hosted the Portuguese Open many times. 4 - PARQUE DA FLORESTA - This westernmost course in the Algarve features a challenging layout amid the rolling hills of the Costa Vincentina Nature Reserve. 5 - ALTO GOLF CLUB - 18 Holes - par 72. Designed by Sir Henry Cotton with gentle rolling fairways and scenic views of the Monchique Mountains. 6 - VILAMOURA GOLF - This resort offers a total of 5 golf courses offering variety, value and challenge for all levels of golfers.
