Villa Des Mines is superbly located making the most of the glorious mountain views. The 90.5 sq. mtr apartment has 3 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin and one room with bunk beds), bathroom, separate toilet, a well equipped kitchen, dining room and comfortable seating area. There is a large sunny terrace with built-in BBQ and marble sink, which together with the covered terrace, totals some 45 sq. mtrs. Just a 5 minute walk from the apartment takes you to the village outdoor pools (a deep pool with diving board, a children's pool and a paddling pool for the very young), an indoor pool, Municipal Park & children's play areas. Three mornings a week the village hosts a bustling market, where you can buy local produce. There is a wide range of shops, 3 café-bars & 6 restaurants, with many more in neighbouring villages.

Vernet Les Bains is an attractive mountain spa village with many amenities. Situated at 650 m, at the foot of Mt. Canigou, it is surrounded by the peaks of the Eastern Pyrenees. In addition to the village pools, there is a sizeable fresh water beach with lake swimming at Vinca (15 minutes drive). Natural rock pools in the Rotja river near Sahorre (known locally as Sahorre beach), provide another scenic bathing area and you can swim by the waterfalls - Cascades des Anglais (these are significantly cooler!), just above Vernet. The glorious sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are less than an hour away by car - St.Cyprian and Argeles and a little further along the coast, the picturesque port towns of Collioure and Banyuls. The picturesque medieval walled settlement of Villefranche de Conflent is just 5 mins drive away. Within the fortified walls, you will find narrow streets containing a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.
