Le Moulin des Ances is a beautiful stone house set in landscaped gardens and is just 30 minutes from LA ROCHELLE on the west coast of France. With 170m2 of living space the house has been entirely renovated in recent years. The 2 living rooms are large and bright with high ceilings, exposed beams and stone fireplaces. The kitchen/dining room also has exposed beams and opens to the garden and pool. It is set in landscaped grounds of 5500m2 with an abundance of trees and shrubs and next to extensive woodlands. The mill-stream runs around the property and there is a small lake. The large swimming pool (11m x 5,5m) is fully heated and faces woodlands and orchards. Le Moulin des Ances provides a perfect centre for visiting the region. The picturesque port of La Rochelle, the beach resort of Chatelaillon and Le Marais Poitevin (Green Venice) are half an hour away. Inland you can drive to Saintes and Cognac in an hour and to the Futuroscope at Poitiers in less than 90 minutes.

Le Moulin des Ances provides a perfect centre for visiting the region. The picturesque port of La Rochelle, the beach resort of Chatelaillon and Le Marais Poitevin (Green Venice) are half an hour away. Inland you can drive to Saintes and Cognac in an hour and to the Futuroscope at Poitiers in less than 90 minutes. The villages of Saint Germain de Marencennes and Muron are both five minutes away where you will find bakers, general stores and bars. The attractive market town of Surgeres with its chateau and park is 10 minutes away. Here you will find a covered market, supermarkets and a wide range of local specialist shops. The nearest large town, a 20 minute drive, is Rochefort near the mouth of the Charente river. The town was originally built by Louis XIV as a centre of ship-building and a naval arsenal and many historical sites and buildings remain.

Wonderful Relaxing trip in the Countryside

We recently travelled to France for the first time from Australia. Our last week of our holiday was spent in this wonderful home. We are a family with 4 young children and found this accommodation a dream. Everything you could possibly imagine was provided in the house from descriptive tourist information to a good selection of DVDs. The kitchen was very well equipt. There was even fruit on the fruit trees! The pool was just lovely. The owners have put together a great manual of the operation of everything in the house as well as places to eat and shop. Communication between the owners and ourselves was prompt and informative. I could not recomend this house enough and it was a highlight of our trip.Thanks Trefor and Maureen,

The house and the grounds are wonderful in fact the photographs do not do the place justice. Clean and comfortable and very welcoming we felt instantly at home. The pool is astounding and the private patio areas are in sunshine all day and not overlooked. The location of the house is good and easy to find. We were in constant contact with the owners who were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all a great holiday experience. We would have no hesitation in recommending.

A beautiful property in excellent order. All mod cons including internet. In 10 years of visiting various villas in France this is the best we've found yet. The description is accurate and the owners very helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended! A+

Would recommend dining out at La Rochelle by the old port.

We had a fabulous time during our stay at this beautiful villa near La Rochelle. The house is superb - it has been furnished/decorated to a high standard and every detail has been thought through with great attention to detail. We had such a wonderful time swimming and relaxing in the grounds that we went sight-seeing reluctantly! We hope to return again next year and would thoroughly recommend this accomodation highly to both sightseers and those wishing to indulge in complete relaxation.
