5 mins walk to the market square with superb open air market, wonderful restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, medieval chateau walls, river walks and parkland. La Belle Cachette is a beautiful villa which sleeps up to 8 (plus cot) and comprises 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin room on the first floor and an extra ground floor day room with double sofa bed overlooking the pool. Lovely beamed kitchen/diner very well equipped and beamed salon with open fire and 3 sofas and armchairs. There are 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. The downstairs shower room has shower with hydro massaging body jets, marble vanity unit and WC. The upstairs bathroom has bath with overhead shower, twin basins in marble vanity unit and separate wc. Both bathrooms nearly installed last year. There is an additional ground floor reading room with sofa and armchair. Walled garden and 10x5 metre private swimming pool, covered veranda for al fresco dining equipped with BBQ, sun loungers, garden furniture. lawns and palms

Located at the end of a quiet cul de sac on the edge of a lively market town and within easy walking distance to the market square, wonderful restaurants, cafes, mediaeval castle walls, river walks and parkland. La Belle Cachette is so well placed to explore the surrounding countryside, La Rochelle, beaches, islands and fascinating towns such as Cognac, Saintes and the intriguing Venise Vert, France's own answer to the Green Venice where you can take a punt for a leisurely trip through the winding canals of the Marais Poitevin. Or visit Futuroscope in Poitiers, a most popular attraction. Don't miss a lovely day out on the beautiful Ile de Re and Ile d'Oleron both an easy drive away. The Charente Maritime has its own micro climate which is the second hottest region to the Cote d'Azur but we're only a few hours' drive from the ferry! If you don't want to drive, take the TGV train from Paris/La Rochelle and hop off at Surgeres, en route to La Rochelle. 10 mins walk from the station!
