Les Granges is in the triangle of Ste. Foy la Grande, Duras and Eymet. There are many leisure activities to be found in the vicinity. Canoeing, boat trips and tennis at Ste. Foy, horse-riding at Les Leves, children’s aqua park, crazy golf, bowling alley, quad bikes etc. are all within 20 minutes drive providing you with a variety of activities for the more energetic. places to visit include St. Emilion with its famous 12th century monolithic church. Here you can tour the famous vineyards on a motorised train and take in the delights of the surrounding countryside. Climb the bell tower, visit the catacombs, meander through the cobbled streets visiting the many boutiques and wine tasting shops, stopping off at one of the bustling cafes for welcoming refreshments. Bordeaux has many magnificent buildings and shops which can be reached by train from Ste. Foy station. The largest sand dune in France is located at Arcachon plus magnificent beaches which is about 1 hour away by car.

Pure relaxation in a beautiful setting

Myself and three friends stayed at Les Granges for a week in August 2009 and it surpassed all our hopes and expectations.

The accommodation is superb - the cottages are well equipped and the pool is clean, warm and the perfect place to relax. We used the barbeque area almost every night and ate out on our terrace watching the stars in the perfectly clear skies.

The local area is fascinating and full of authentic French experiences and we were delighted with the welcome we received, both from our hosts at Les Granges and from everyone we met during our stay. Facilities in the nearby towns and villages are very good, and there is plenty to do and see.

I would wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Les Granges for anyone seeking a proper "get away from it all" holiday. I feel that the greatest endorsement a holiday destination can receive is if visitors return for repeat holidays, and i can confidently predict that we are sure to return at some point in the future.

Relax and enjoy

Four of us visited Les Granges this summer as we have done for the past two summers. The individual cottages are beautifully presented and have been lovingly restored by the present owners. We stayed in "Campanule" which was very comfortable and well equipped. There was an individual patio outside the cottage which overlooked the pool. A BBQ was available if we required it although with an abundance of restaurants in the area we preferred to eat out.

Our hosts were kindness itself and only too pleased to help us feel comfortable and at home. The pool was fabulous - just the right size and kept beautifully clean (in fact my husband enjoyed helping during his early morning swim by untangling the robot that cleans the pool each night!).

One afternoon the weather was not so good so we went 10 pin bowling followed by crazy golf. There is a local vineyard run by an English family who provided a fabulous meal one evening with their own wines served appropriately for each course. You need to book in advance as it is a very popular event.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday as it is such a peaceful and relaxed area and well worth a visit. We shall certainly be returning again.

Clematite

My wife and I had two glorious weeks of sunshine at Le Granges. The Celematite is a lovely, roomy Gite, more than adequate for all our needs. There is a great pool on site which was certainly a blessing with the weather we had, popping in and out to keep us cool.
The surrounding area is beatiful, with lots of old French towns to visit in the locality. Restaraunts are also within easy reach. All in all, a lovely holiday, in a lovely location.
The owners are also very nice and helpful whenever needed.

Fantastic Cottage

Les Granges is an amazing place to stay. The cottages and grounds are well maintained and of a very high quality. The owners, Pauline and Mike, are amazing and couldn't do more for us when we've been there (we've been 4 times so that says a lot!). There's plenty to do round about eg local markets such as Duras, chateaux to visit, quad biking, river trips etc.

Our 9th visit - its like home from home

As it is our 9th visit we love it here. We had friends to stay this time and they loved every moment. Ann celebrated her 60th birthday here and the restaurants in the area are superb. The property was very clean as always. Maintained to a very high standard.
