Only a ten minute drive to the centre of the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Cortona. Excellent base to explore both Tuscany and Umbria. Main A1 motorway only a ten minute drive from the apartment and the mainline railway station is only a two minute drive. Perugia, Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto, Assisi, Deruta, Gubbio, San Gimignano, Arezzo and other places of interest are all within easy access. Florence - 1 hour. Rome/Pisa - 2 hours. Lake Trasimeno, where Hannibal defeated the Romans, is only a 15 minute drive away, together with its many beaches, and from where you can take boat trips to one of the three beautiful islands on the lake.
