Notes: MOBILITY PROBLEMS? TODDLERS? The villa, sits on a dramatic hillside but thoughtful design largely eliminates steps/stairs in and around the villas. From the car park for villa Athena a low step takes you to the poolside then a short ramp to the main terrace. Beyond this access is level to a wrap-round balcony - off this are wide doors to all rooms with low (3cm) metal lips at the threshold. Inside door thresholds are level and wide enough for most wheelchairs (send your wheelchair dimensions and in the unlikely event of there being access problems, we can advise you). In bathrooms there are grab-rails to help use the toilet and shower. The shower is spacious and if standing is a problem, can accommodate a plastic armchair. There's a marble lip 5cm high to go over at the shower entrance. There's one exterior staircase leading to a sunbathing terrace and table tennis area. This is gated and so is the poolside so toddlers can be safely contained once in and around the villa.

BOOKING PROCEDURE: ENQUIRIES - via Holiday Rentals. We normally reply by email within 24 hours confirming availability and price. BOOKING - if you then wish to book, we send you a Holiday Offer and Costing which invites you to pay a 20% deposit to secure the villa. BALANCE PAYMENT - the remaining 80% is due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday and we send an invoice about 2 weeks before that. RECEIPTS - will be issued for both these payments. PAYMENT METHOD - you can send us money to our Crete bank by direct interbank transfer or pay by credit or debit card through the on-line payment agency PayPal. To facilitate the former we will send you a form containing all the details you will need of our bank, etc. You can then fill in your details and send or phone all this to your bank. In the other case, we have to send you a PayPal invoice and the fairly simple procedure is outlined on it.

Sparsely equipped villa but reasonably adequate, very clean with great location for beaches and tavernas. Wonderful views from the terrace but the villa itself lacks privacy due to the proximity of the 2 neighbouring villas on this site. TV/DVD/CD player appeared not to work.
Please note, it might be wise to insist that the deposit (paid in euros) is returned in the same currency as we received a cheque in pounds sterling at a shamefully poor exchange rate.
Owner's Response: We thank C and T for the positive aspects of their review but if they were disappointed with some things, we wish they had approached us. We make regular visits to the site specifically to make sure our clients are happy.

To address their negative points:
*** The villas are modern/somewhat minimalist in style. The furnishings etc.are of good quality and there is a lack of clutter - which most people seem to like.

*** It is true that there are 3 villas on this site but the only place partially seen by the neighbouring villa (which is 30 mtrs away) is the sitting room. Both bedrooms and both bathrooms are completely private and there is a high wall to the main terrace (where most people sit down to eat or read etc.) giving complete privacy there.

*** Had C and T mentioned that they could not work the TV/CD player, we would have adjusted it for them - a matter of a minute or two to do.

*** We have stopped taking a damages deposit so this point is not now an issue. However, our practice when we did take this deposit was to state the rate of exchange on the receipt given together with an invitation, if the rate was not liked, to negotiate a different rate.
