New and luxurious apartment, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, capacity for 4 up to 6 people, completely and excellently equipped, cable TV, modern kitchen, laundry with washing machine and drying machine, microwave, oven, fridge and various utensils, amongst others.. A bedroom suite with private bath and balcony. Near the promenade where you can enjoy wonderful night walks, enjoying the mild climate of our island, several restaurants, bars and entertainment night in the vicinity, five minutes walk from the cathedral. Extras and specials: Covered parking space - 80 Euros / week. Extra day - 80 Euros (100 in Christmas) Special price for a full month 1800€(euro).

The flat was immaculate and had everything we needed - except for air conditioning which would have made the holiday complete. The pool was well maintained and very quiet and private. We hired a car and the underground parking was worth the extra charge. Strolling down to Funchal centre was very pleasant, but I agree with the other reviewer that it was a bit of a slog back up to the appartment again.
Tina met us at the airport and was very helpful.
We'd recommend a couple of restuarants - the E Pra Picanha (close to the flat and to the hotel zone side of the casino avoiding the walk down into the town centre - superb beef, recommending the sliced Picanha). If you are up for a stroll into the old town (maybe a taxi back) the restuarant Arsenio (rua de Santa Maria) has traditional Portugese singing in the evening as well as a very good menu and wine list. If you're lucky a live band may be playing in the square next door later in the evening.
Make sure to visit the North coast and get up into the mountains.

The apartment was more than we expected. The location was very walkable to Funchal centre, although there is a steep climb so not suitable for the elderly or disabled, kept me fit though. The rooms were spacious, clean and tastfully decorated. The beds were comfortable. Showers and bath of good standard (with bath jacuzzi) There was plenty of crockery in kitchen, so food preparation was a breeze. Read up on your Portugese, so you can work the washing machine! Bring with you mosquito spray and use it EVERY night! They like the english. (as I do in all countries around this area, dont be put off) The swimming pool was fab and fairly private, so great for a morning dip without competition. There was no noise in the evening........just lovely and peaceful.

The only downside would be the lack of aircon or a fan. It took about 3 nights for me to adjust to the heat otherwise.

I would certainly recommend this apartment. Tina and Agnes were very helpful indeed. It was safe and great for privacy.

Best view in Funchal

My husband, my 11 year old son and I just returned from a two week stay in this apartment. I just wanted to say that there can't be a better apartment in Funchal. The apartment is brand new, with everything you would need for a good stay, including stove, microwave, washing machine, comfy beds etc. The bathrooms and kitchen have a built in radio and speakers. The 2 bedrooms are big and the bathrooms are also a good size. The salt water pool is only one floor down from the balcony, it was very easy to let my son play while I watched from the balcony. For smaller children there is a playground with swings and a slide that can be seen from one of the bedrooms and the balcony. We did not rent a car, but saw the garage and its very safe and very clean. The apartment is only a 10 to 15 minute walk to downtown and to the new mall Dolce Vita. But the best part about this apartment has to be the view. The master bedroom has glass doors from wall to wall that open almost all the way. It was so wonderful to be able to fall asleep with the doors open all the way, feel the tropical breeze and look at the amazing view over the hills of Funchal. I would like to thank Susana and Paulo for the great welcome. And I hope that when I visit this beautiful island again I can stay in this wonderful apartment. Thank you for a great vacation.
