5 bedroom isolated villa, sleeps 8, 3 bathrooms (one en-suite), fully fitted kitchen, living room and dining room opening to the swimming pool set in a landscaped garden with the BBQ nearby. The fenced property (14.000 square meters) is located in the Serra d'Aire and Candeeiros National Park, making it an ideal place for walks, birdwatching or just relaxing around the swimming pool. The views from the house are beautiful, punctuated by the olive and cork trees and surmounted by the medieval Alcanede Castle. The night sky is also breathtaking. All this, plus the friendliness of the local people guarantees a truly relaxed holiday, away from it all.

Alcanede, the closest village, is just 2 km away wih all the modern facilities: restaurants, banks, cafés, internet space, supermarket, post office and health centre. Santarém, 30 km away, is a small gothic town well worth a visit for its churches, manors and old Arab and medieval fortifications. There is a good reason to call it the Portuguese Gothic Capital. Peniche and Nazaré, both old fishing ports with miles of unspoilt beaches, are 50 km away. On a short ride from the villa, one can also visit the beautiful caves of Serra d'Aire with its underground rivers and lakes and thousands of multicoloured stalactites. Also at a distance of about 60 km lies the old medieval town of Obidos and the Holy Shrine of Fatima.

Wonderful holiday in Portugal

We were pleasantly surprised by the very warm personal welcome by Manuel and Sonia on our arrival.
The house exceeded our expectations, especially the spacious kitchen where we found everything we needed (and more). It has been a very relaxing holiday in a house where we felt truly at home.

The sunny days we spent swimming, the evenings around the outdoor barbeque in the comfortable seats.

We stayed in the villa with 2 families (4 adults and 4 children) and we found we had enough space and enough privacy for all.

we stayed in the house in Serra d'Aire for a golf competition at Golden Eagle. There was 7 of us staying and playing. he house was perfect. The owner met us when we arrived and showed us around. It was clean and very well mantained. He provided a welcome pack and also afew extras which was very much appriciated. The dvd collection and CD's were very impressive.

The property isnt in the middle of a town, it is, as said, its idilicly situated with gorgeous views. If you have a car it is worth the extra drive to stay. I cant reccomend this Villa enough, everything from the apperance to the fine details were looked after.

Loved the restaurant in town, chicken piri piri and fresh fish and very cheap. Didnt need anything else.

Beautiful villa with stunning countryside views.

We have had a fantastic 10 day stay at this villa in July. The whole experience was superb. From our initial enquiry to when we reluctantly had to leave the owners could not do enough for our party of five from Ireland, 2 adults and 3 children. Really friendly helpful people.
The villa has everything you could need and more. It is very clean and tidy. Kitchen is very big and well stocked with utensils. All the bedrooms are comfortable and spacoius. Three lovely bathrooms with plenty of towels. A big lounge with tv, dvd and cd player. A welcome surprise was the extensive collection of cd's and dvd's. The dining room, which has a card table with cards and games provided, leads onto the pool which is great for cooling off on hot days. There is also a great bbq area. The gardens around the villa are very well kept and the views are to die for. Stunning.
It is a great base from which to travel around sightseeing. Fatima, the coastal resorts, Obidos and Santarem are all less than an hours drive. Lisbon is a little over an hour. Or you can laze by the pool and soak up the sun. The village of Alacanede is about a 5 minute drive and has a great little supermarket, cafes/restaurants, pharmacy etc. and everyone is friendly.
If you want somewhere to get away from it all this is the place. Quiet, peaceful and very relaxing, Highly highly recomended.

Wonderful Stay in Secluded 5 BR Villa

Our family of 6 recently returned from a memorable stay in the secluded 5 BR Villa in the Santarem, Portugal area. We found the property to be exactly as advertised. In fact, it was better than what we had read about. The listing alone got us excited to immediately check into the availability. From the very first inquiry, until the end of our stay, the owners provided exceptional service.

The property was clean, well-maintained and absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of room for all 6 of us inside the house, including meal times with the spacious kitchen and dining room that opened up to the pool. The pool was refreshing and we all took the opportunity to lay around it to sunbathe then take a dip to cool off. We enjoyed the seclusion and the beautiful views. We had transportation so we spent about half the days traveling to many wonderful sights then come back each evening to the peaceful environment. We spent the other days just relaxing at the property. Almost each evening, we enjoyed a DVD or video from the extensive library that was provided. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to be rejuvenated.

A lot of care has been taken with this property with the shade trees, colorful flowers, manicured lawn, cook out facility, conveniences inside the home and board and card games. It was very evident that the owners take great pride in their property and we were honored that we were allowed to stay there.

This type of trip was a once in a lifetime experience for us. We enjoyed it so well that we would love to come back again.
