Calpe for centuries was just a fishing village, now a popular tourist destination famously known for the breathtaking 332m2 rock formation Penon de Ifach, now a protected Natural Park. It is now possible to climb to the top of the high rock.
There are a good number of excellent blue flag sandy beaches. Water is very clear and warm. Calpe enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year with an average winter temperature 20C and summer 40C
The cuisine of Calpe is traditionally based on fish, with it's old fishing harbour, but will satisfy tastes of all nationalities.
There are many surrounding places worth a visit. Cumbre Del Sol,Moraira, Javea. Denia offers ferry services to Ibiza, Mallorca. Benidorm is just 30 minutes away by car where you can find Terra Mitica Theme Park, Aqualandia Water Park, Mundomar Exotic Animal and Marine Park. Benidorm Palace is not to be missed.
