Top 17 in Hotel Schillerhof is a luxury apartment in the Austrian Alps. Bad Gastein has fantastic skiing and superb summer holidays. Our apartment sleeps 6-8, has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies and fantastic views over the mountains. Renters have free use of the swimming pool, sauna, ski room etc. The ski bus stops virtually outside the hotel, giving easy access to all the ski areas in the region. Or walk 40 meters to the nearest ski lift! Bad Gastein is one of the most scenic towns in the Austrian Alps and has warm, spring-fed thermal baths to soothe aches away, plenty of (but not intrusive) night-life, a Casino and much more. Transfer time by road from Salzburg is 1 to 1.5 hrs. The town is constantly investing in the ski area and is well serviced with lifts, snow makers and groomed pistes. You will struggle to ski all the pistes that the area has to offer in a week! Bad Gastein is located in a National Park and is stunning in the summer!

Bad Gastein is a great place for a winter ski holiday. It has a long season (December to May), is relatively snow sure, with 240km of varied skiing. The famous warm water spa baths are a big favourite and many visitors arrive to take the healing waters, as they do the Radon Caves, a couple of kilometres up the road. Located in the Tauern National Park, Bad Gastein is less than 1.5 hours away from Salzburg. Short transfer time! Bad Gastein has a famous Casino and there is plenty of Apres ski possibilities. In the summer, Cycling and Walking holidays are popular in the region. If anything, the Town is even more attractive in the summer.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A Non-refundable deposit of £100 (or 150 euros) is required within 7 days of a
    provisional booking being made. The deposit must also be accompanied by a signed
    booking form, which is obtainable from us. Full payment must be received 8
    weeks before your arrival.
    With the full payment a Refundable deposit of £100 (or 150 euros) is also required to
    cover any damage/breakages or missing items or exceeding our occupancy limits.
    However, in the event that the £100 (or 150 euros) deposit is not sufficient to repair
    such damage or replace such broken or missing items, the person signing the booking
    form will be responsible for the additional cost.
    The Refundable deposit will be returned within 14 days of your departure once the
    apartment has been checked and deemed acceptable.
  • Towels and Linen are included in the price.
    An obligatory 85Euros is payable at the Hotel at the time of your visit to cover the cleaning charge for the apartment after you have departed.
    Local visitor tax (KUR tax) is payable at the time of your visit at the prevailing rate. (Currently 2Euro per person per day)

For ski details, see the website ask for details. There are 4 main areas in the Gasterteinal, totalling almost 250kms of pistes. Sportgastein has a top height of 2700metres and has a season into May. The pistes are big, wide and undulating and rarely busy. The Graukogel, right next to the apartment, has some challenging reds and blacks, a couple of blues that go through the trees and again, usually is not very busy. The main area between Bad Gastein and Bad Hofgastein is where most of the pistes lie, with a further big area down the valley at Dorf Gastein. There has been heavy investment in snow cannons, but even in generally poor snow years, most of the resort has had plenty of snow cover.

i have been to this apartment 3 times and will be going again soon.it is ideally placed for skiing on the graukogel,(the lift is almost outside the door),although the skiing is limited on the graukogel it is usually open when the rest of the resort is closed due to bad weather.
the ski bus stops almost outside the apartment and takes about 5 minutes to get to the main skiing area with only one stop on the way.
the apartment has all you need for a pleasant and relaxing stay,the view down the valley is great whilst you are eating your breakfast.
i went with young children 7 and 11 and found the swimming pool a welcome relief after the kids had skied enough..
the town is within walking distance if you don't want to cook and the restaurant in the complex offers good food at a reasonable price.
the resort itself has more than enough skiing to keep you going for a week,without skiing the same runs many times,take the trip up the valley to sport gastien to get some of the best wide carving runs in the resort,it's worth the effort of getting on the bus or taking a taxi to get there early and be the first down.
the bellevue alm is a must for an evening meal and the toboggan ride back down the floodlit run after a couple of gluhwiens.

Bad Gastein is wonderful for skiing and for using thermal baths. Apartment is very good. Everything what write on Internet about a Top17 is real. Sauna and swimming pool are good to. I recommended Hotel Schillerhof to rent for good skiing on black and red pistes 40m near hotel, and other ski centers in Gastein.
