A spacious studio apartment for two or three, with one double bed and one single. Set up for self catering, with a West facing balcony looking out over the sea - ideal for keeping an eye on the kids or watching the sun go down after a hard day's relaxing on the beach! There is a private area in front of the apartment in which to park your car, play ball, or to have a BBQ all under the shade of the line of palm trees that lead you to the beach. The apartment has a well equipped kitchen, a good sized shower room, air-conditioning and sheets and towels are provided. The apartment is not even ten metres from the beach but if you fancy a day out it is close to some of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece - Mycenae, Tiryns, Argos and the ancient theatre of Epidavros. Or go shopping in the chic old town Nafplion, or search out the day trip boat excursions to the islands of Poros, Hydra and Spectus that leave daily from nearby Tolon.

Around Iria.

Iria is a pleasant small village with tavernas and small shops. It is a fishing village and has a working harbour with small fishing boats bobbing in and out. Round about there are many and varied things to see and places to visit. Some close at hand some for a day trip. The nearby unspoilt villages are full of stone cottages and goat herds. In the town of Tolon, up the road from Iria, there is a daily cruise boats which can take you to the islands of Poros, Spetses and Hydra. Tolon also has a wide variety of water sports, glass bottomed boats, pedalos and water skiing. Further afield in the Pelopannese are waterparks, a rack and pinion railway up a mountain, a deserted walled village, The Rio Anderio - the largest bridge of it's type in the world. So much to discover.

Nearby town of Nafplion

Naflio was the first capital of Greece and what attracts the visitor is the old medieval and neoclassical city with marble pavings, wooden balconies, bougainvilleas that overflow from walled courtyards, springs, ancient fountains, the square of Constitution with the old Turkish baths (film and stage theatre today) and coffee shops. Palamidi, the castle atop the hill, overlooks all of Nauflio. You can climb this by it's 999 steps or, if you want to take it easy, take the road around the back! Bourzti is the name of the island fort in the bay and there are boat trips across running regularly (4 euros per person). On Saturdays and Wednesday there is the local produce market on one of the more major roads in Nafplio which has become quite a big market with cloths stalls and flower stalls and so. Naflio has a attractive 'town beach' which has a cafe and changing rooms

The area of Agolida

Argolida, the area in which Iria lays is rich in everything. The most well know archaeological sites are all within a hours drive, Mycenae, Agommenom 'bee hive' tomb, Epidavros Amphitheatre, the great Cyclopian wall of Tirins. There are also a great variety of beaches. Some with banana boats, speed rubber rings and lilos. Others with Kite Surfing school and one with a diving center. There also the Blue Flag award winning Carathona beach with is long stretch of sand and crystal clear waters. This is an agricultural area rich orange and and olive groves. Recent improvement to the roads network has made the area very accessible and within two hours of landing at the airport you can be sitting sipping your ouzo gazing at the sea, basking up the sun. What more could you want.
