Photos and Description of this Alghero holiday villa Self catering villa within 1km of the sea and 2km of the Historical Centre

Large 3 bed roomed villa on the outskirts of Alghero. The villa is situated in a quiet setting overlooking the country side outside Alghero. Outside there is a swimming pool, a spacious veranda with plenty of space to relax and a stone barbecue. Inside there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a very large living/dining room with separate kitchen. There is a sofa bed in the lounge area. Although a car is recommended it is possible to walk in and out of town. The sea is within a km from the villa, the coast here is mostly rocky where you can snorkel and there is a small beach within walking distance. The Lido beach is on the other side of town, less than 10 minutes by car and the quieter La Speranza beach, south of town is 10 minutes away. A bus passes close to the villa to take you into town or to the beach.

A great holiday

Our group of six young people (3 couples) stayed at this villa for a week in July and had a fantastic time. We mostly hung around by the pool area and read our books in the sunshine though a few of us did venture further afield occasionally.
I'd definitely recommend having a car if you're going to stay here, if only for getting shopping to and from the villa as it is out of town. We enjoyed the peace and quiet but it might not be great for people who want to be close to nightlife. Mostly, we visited restaurants that were a comfortable half-hour stroll away and ate very well there!
The property was very clean and well-maintained and equipped with everything we could have wanted. We really appreciated having air conditioning in the living room, though the villa itself generally stayed quite cool during the day.
We were slightly disappointed that the access to the sea nearest to the villa was spoilt by litter (plastic bags in the sea, glass on the rocks) but we did find a lovely sandy beach about 10 minutes drive away.
We were very sad when it was time to leave but the easy access to the airport made the departure process very simple. The owners very kindly let us stay in the villa all day as our flight was in the evening and there was no-one arriving next day.
