Canterbury Cottage is a beautiful grade II listed 16th century, traditional thatched Devon cottage in secluded rural setting a mile from Chardstock, a pretty country village with a thatched pub/restaurant and local store. Within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Blackdown Hills, Canterbury cottage is only six miles from the stunning Jurassic Coast and the seaside towns and beaches of East Devon and Dorset, making it a perfect choice for a self catering family holiday exploring the West Country. A cottage lover's dream, Canterbury Cottage retains its traditional features and character, whilst providing the self catering holidaymaker with all the conveniences of modern living. The fully equipped, farmhouse kitchen has an AGA, modern electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and breakfast table. The bright spacious sitting room, is oak beamed and has the original inglenook fire place, comfortable seating for 7, dining for 8 and French doors to the large garden

A complete set of instructions and booking information will be sent to you once your booking has been confirmed. Other useful information to help you enjoy your stay in Devon will be found in abundance in the cottage itself, within leaflets, books on the area, and other guest's comments. Please remember when booking, this is a private family home and not a hotel. It is also a truly rural idyll and, even though thoroughly modernised, will require a degree of self-sufficiency and understanding of living in the country. You will, however, experience the true nature and beauty of staying in a thatched cottage in the glorious East Devon countrysid

Terms and Conditions 2: Weekly bookings are Saturday to Saturday - arrivals from 4.00 pm and departures by 10.00 am. We do not offer short breaks but are willing to discuss bookings of four nights or more. All prices are in Pounds GB and are fully inclusive of electricity, full central heating, logs for the fire. Bed linen and towels (1 bath sheet and 1 hand towel per person) and kitchen cloths are provided but you should bring beach towels, plus any other linen you may require. A highchair and a cot can be provided if advance notice is given. Cot linen is not provided. Please bring slippers, as outdoor shoes are not allowed in the bedrooms. We provide a a welcome basket of local produce which includes bread, butter, jam and milk. Tea, coffee and sugar is also provided along with cleaning materials. Catering is available by prior arrangement. We clean the property on arrival and after departure. For stays of two weeks or more, linen is changed on every seventh day.

Terms and Conditions 3: Only guests listed on the booking form may stay at Canterbury Cottage. No smoking is allowed in the cottage or gardens. Pets are not allowed. There is a telephone for incoming calls, outgoing local calls and 999 emergency calls only. A local contact will be provided for emergencies.
