A great Irish holiday experience

Eileen and Alan Bedfordshire, England
Review Submitted: September 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I have just spent a great week at Flemingstown Lodge (end of August) with my Father who is 88. The accommodation suited us perfectly as my Dad had his own bedroom and en suite bathroom with walk-in shower and also everthying is on one level. As others have said, the location is VERY peaceful and Imelda and her assistant, Theresa, were on hand if we needed anything, but not at all intrusive.... and yes there were the ocassional examples of her wonderful home cooking.
The location is very central for touring around Kerry, County Clare (Cliffs of Moher which we booked up as a tour via the brochures in the lodge) and other beautiful sites. It brought back lovely memories for Dad who'd cycled there as young man... He also enjoyned the Foynes Flying Museum very much.
We had our first and last evening meals at the Old Bake House in Bruff which were a special treat.
I'd definately come back again.

Flemingstown, Self-catering Kilmallock, Ireland

Gloria S Cocoa, Florida USA
Review Submitted: June 13, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had a fabulous experience right from the start. Imelda greeted us warmly and she was just so helpful with everything. The self-catering cottage was so very charming and it was set in a gorgeous setting. Everything inside the cottage is high end and luxurious from the bedding and linen to the furnishings. The grounds are immaculately maintained She has provided outside seating in various locations, which we enjoyed on a daily basis. The cottage is in the perfect location to visit the many wonderful sights that Ireland has to offer.

Imelda and her staff treated us like royalty. Nothing was too small for her to assist us. I would recommend the lodge with the gorgeous rooms or the self-catering cottage to anyone who is visiting Ireland,. This trip to Ireland will be the first of many for us. We will be returning to Flemingstown House due to Imelda. She is just the best!!

Thanks for the fantastic vacation.

A Fabulous Irish Holiday Experience

Michael and Josephine Ilkley, West Yorkshire, England
Review Submitted: June 13, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
A stay at Flemingstown Lodge with our family and grandchildren to celebrate my husband's retirement was a truly wonderful experience. We found it a place of pure joy to relax and unwind. This beautiful restored lodge set in the owner's grounds has breathtaking views of the Golden Vale and the Ballyhoura Mountains.
On arrival, Imelda the host greeted us with a truly Irish welcome with tea and home made cakes. The lodge is furnished with the finest country antiques throughout together with beautiful bedrooms furnished with very comfortable beds that are draped over with the finest Irish linen, and pillows so big and soft it was like sleeping on a cloud. This is just a taste of the perfect attention to detail we found and would add up to a magical stay.
Imelda and her delightful family are genuine lovely people who had done their utmost to see our holiday and my husband's retirement was an occasion we will long remember. As a host she is simply the best and we are already looking forward to a return visit.

Peaceful, Tasteful & Welcoming

James and Frances Hamilton, Canada
Review Submitted: June 10, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Our stay at Flemingstown can be summed up by the warmth, welcome and hospitality that the owner Imelda, delivers to her guests. Nothing is unattended to by Imelda down to fine furnishings, welcoming baked treats, excellent meals, and always being available to make our holiday a special one. The lodge with it's two bedrooms and baths is perfect and private, while the main house B&B rooms are elegent and the breakfast plentiful and tasteful. Location of Flemingstown is centrally located in southern Ireland in a quiet, rural, country setting allowing guests to travel in all directions each day on new adventures through out Ireland. Flemingstown is a rare find!!!

Great Location

Irish vacation Weatogue, CT. USA
Review Submitted: April 28, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
A perfect location to use as a home base for day tripping throughout Southwestern and Western Ireland. The accommodations were immaculate, and with all the modern ammenities. The only thing better than the facilities was the hospitality and warmth of the owner. She made this facility truly seem like a home away from home.

A must stay for your western Ireland vacation.
