Two apartments with large sun terraces. Views of sea, harbour and town

Apartment 'Calvario' is a modern, luxury accommodation offering one bedroom or (on a second level) three bedroom options. Terraces facing south-east offer views of sunrise, San Sebastian town and park, harbour and marina. Table and chairs for dining or reclining in shade or sunshine through to late afternoon.

Modern recently renovated kitchen/dining with oven/hob, large fridge, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine. Table and chairs upto 6 people.

Lounge with very comfortable furnishings, CD-DVD player, patio doors to terrace.

Bathroom with shower/bath, wash basin, bidet and toilet.

Bedroom 1 with double bed, wardrobes, dressing table, bedside tables.

Access to bedroom 2 and 3 (double bedrooms) on the large upper terrace is via a narrow wooden stairs leading from the lower terrace. neither terrace is accessible other than from the apartment.

All rooms have windows and cooling fans making the accommodation very bright and airy.

The short ferry crossing from Tenerife is well rewarded !!! This unspoilt Canary Island of La Gomera offers an idyllic alternative holiday destination rich with history, natural beauty and colour. The Garajonay National Park provides some of the best hiking through rain forests to be found anywhere in Europe. Your apartment is only 5 mins. walk from San Sebastian main Plaza. This capital town has a excellent selection of restaurants and tapas bars offering good low price local food with friendly service. There are many shops and boutiques along the two main streets of this small town. For historians, the town park's Torre del Conde museum and Cristopher Columbus's house are among places of particular interest. The town has two beaches. Outdoor swimming pool with tennis, basketball and sauna is offered by Club Nautica. Car hire is very reasonable and a drive around La Gomera is stunning ! Other activities include fishing, diving, snorkelling, cycling and sailing out of San Sebastian.

  • COLLECTION - The apartment is privately owned by us and we live with our young family here on the Island of La Gomera. We can therefore offer you a personal service , not only at the booking stage, but also when you arrive in San Sebastian. We will meet you at the ferry terminal, drive you with your luggage and settle you into your accommodation. We are also there if you need us for any queries during your stay.
    DEPOSIT - We accept a copy of your flight details as a deposit and booking confirmation. We kindly ask you do be prepared to pay for the apartment when you move in.
    LAUNDRY - We provide bed linen and towels (not for the beach or swimming pool). This will be changed on a weekly basis.

There is a mirror with light, self and socket. Plenty of storage space for towels, gels etc. A hair drier is also provided !!

Notes: This apartment is in very good condition. The terrace has been recently re-tiled and painted, the kitchen is modern and clean and the apartment has undergone decoration in recent months. All the rooms are serviced with opening windows making them bright and airy. Large cooling fans are fitted to all the ceilings to provide extra comfort. The lounge is large with plenty of seating and stunning views through the patio doors, across the terrace and beyond. A double bedcouch and a spare matress are also available. Children are very welcome by us and the locals of La Gomera ! Discount is offered for children under 12 years. Access to Calvario is via steps up the side of the building thus making it difficult for those not comfortable with stairs - sorry ! Smoking is not permitted in the apartment. However, ashtrays are provided for the terrace. Thank you.

WATER ACTIVITIES:

SAILING-with Canary Sail is the local sailing school providing RYA training, inter-island mileage cruises, charter and, subject to availability, 2 and 3 day RYA 'Start Yachting' courses.

SPORT FISHING-In season. This boat provides some of the best days out with deep water fishing nearby.

SNORKELING/DIVING-'Diveart' teaches snorkelling and sub-aqua diving in the local waters around the bay of San Sebastian.

WHALE/DOLPHIN WATCHING-Just a short ferry ride from San Sebastian to Vueltas, on the west side of La Gomera, excursions are available on 'Tina'.

CLUB NAUTICA-A beautiful setting for swimming, sauna, tennis, basketball, or just a relax at the pool or in the Restaurant of this very sheltered private club (nominal fee).

BEACHES-San Sebastian has two beaches. One is provided in the shelter of the harbour and marina. The other is near Club Nautica and although more exposed to the open sea, offers a good, quiet beach with views across to Tenerife.

MOUNTAIN ACTIVITIES:

WALKING-The Garajonay National Park provides some of the best hiking through rain forest anywhere in Europe. Whether guided walks or self organised, we can assist with your needs.

CYCLING-Normal mountain bikes are available for hire at the marina office in San Sebastian.

There are also Highspec mountain bikes available for guided tours (with or without bus support!) or self organised treks.

Should you have interest in any of the above mentioned activities we advise that you plan ahead and inform us soonest.

AMENITIES:

Nursery/activity centre- for toddlers from 1 year old and children. Safe, supervised indoor playground allows parents to have free time in town.

Please note that the local modern 'Hypertrebol' Supermarket is within 2 mins. walk of your apartment. The market is also located in this immediate area offering local produce and on Wednesdays and Saturdays hand crafted wares.

Beach, restaurants and main Plaza are all within 5 mins. walk.

Golf:

Golf is also available on the 18 hole, Tecina Golf Course close to Playa Santiago on the south side of the island.

Ideal Location

This is the perfect location for old fashioned spain in the canaries.The property was very clean on arrival and is perfectly located for the surrounding small capital town.The balcony overlooks the incoming ferry and is ideal for a late aftenoon rest after the days exercise walking the hills.The road infront of the property does have traffic from 7 am till late at night but you accept this for the central location.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car

Our Vacation.

The description of the location, layout, amenities and facilities was applicable. The property was clean and well-maintained. The customer service by Kirsten, the owner was excellent. She collected us from the ferry and in the run up to the vacation, she was really good at emailing us. I will recommend the property to friends. We were there 1st week in April and the weather was great. We would definitely return again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
