Chalet style lake-front villa for 6/7 close to the Medoc and sea.

Ideal family holiday house. The accommodation is set out over two floors with 2 twin bedrooms and a large double. A foldaway cot is available- sleeping a total of 6 adults and 1 infant. The garden is decked to both front and rear and gets sun both morning and afternoon. There are table and chairs for alfresco dining and other garden furniture for sun lovers. There is also a lockable cycle shed. The interior is set out with two leather sofas and two easychairs with coffee table and a modern flatscreen TV and DVD. The dining table will accommodate 6 comfortably and is adjacent to the open plan kitchen. The kitchen is modern and is fully equipped including a dishwasher, washer dryer, full multifunction oven, ceramic hob and large fridge freezer . Bedroom 1: Twin ground floor with ensuite shower. B/room 2: Twin 1st floor. Bedroom 3: Large double 1st floor with King size bed. There are a total of two shower rooms and a separate wc. Sea: 15 mins drive. Lake 5 mins walk. Town 5 mins drive.

The house is at the northern end of Hourtin Lac. This lake has all sorts of activities such as sailing, wind surfing kite surfing and is very safe for children. The sea is very close by and has one of the longest beaches in Europe where there is surfing, dining and bars with entertainment. To the east is the Medoc - wine country - noted to be the best in the world. Famous names such as Mouton Rothschild and La Tour are just some of the vinyards to visit. Sand dunes at Arcachon are amazing and worth a visit but you need to be fit to get to the top - the views are spectacular. Bordeaux has loads of charm and has many fashion shops that you won't find in the UK. There are lots of streets to explore and a local tourism office just on the main plaza. St Emilion has plenty to offer. The area is full of historic buildings and has the incredible underground sparkling wine caves. The area around Hourtin has cycle trails, walks, horse riding, quad biking and markets. You'll run out of time!

Notes:

Nicely decorated open-plan living with kitchen/diner/living room. The furnishings are above average quality and are all new as of the spring season 2008. The dining table is circular and can accommodate 6 comfortably and up to a maximum of 8. There is seating comfortably for 6 on two leather sofas and two occasional wicker chairs. The lounge/dining area has a large sliding patio door to the westerly decked area which has a large alfresco dining table and seating for up to 10 people this also has a draw out sun canopy if it gets a bit too hot. The entrance to the house is via a door into a small hallway with room for shoes and a separate cloakroom/wc. Off the open-plan area are the stairs leading to the two first floor bedrooms and the family bathroom, and adjacent to the stairs is the third bedroom with its en suite shower room. The living area has a medium sized flat screen TV and DVD player with French satellite reception. UK TV stations will be added at a later date. Parking 2 cars.
