our stay in santa esteveo
Review Submitted: May 24, 2009
Date of Stay: June 2008
We arrived on the 14th of june 2008, in faro airport, we were met by a taxi driver from tavira who had been pre-booked, he knew exactly where the house was, and when we arrived we were delighted to find a very lovely villa, spacious, clean and very well presented, the accommodation suited us and we were delighted to find such a well equipped kitchen, with EVERYTHING in the cupboards, a real home from home feel to the place, and when we opened the sliding doors we were blown away by the gorgous pool, needless to say, thats where we spent most of our holiday..we travelled into tavira and did a big grocery shop which kept us going for the week, the linen on the beds was spotless, as was the whole house..we dined in some nights, then others we went into tavira, the village is only up the road, and we used to have lunch in the lovely little place in the middle of the village, walking around the roads locally was also a pleasure, its very rural, and ideal for people who want to just switch off..the decor is simple and tasteful, it has some portugese touches as well as modern ones..the bathrooms are totally adaquate but for me the well equipped kitchen made such a huge difference when preparing any meal..we had no problems dealing with russell, he was polite and helpful when we asked for recommendations of restaurants and things to see and do, tavira is a great town, steeped in history, loads to see and do, we found some really good bars and the choice of restaurants is fantastic..we are definately coming back next year, in fact we have re-booked already, and cant wait to discover more of the area, we intend to travel to spain for the day, as its only a half hour away, and we will be doing a day in faro as well..
thanks russell for our great holiday, and roll on next year..
