Tuscan Treasure

Our family stayed at Poggio Pallero for 6 nights from August 14-20, 2008. My husband had found the villa on-line, and still takes much credit for doing so! The website was wonderful--much better than many others we've visited. It showed lovely photos of the different rooms in the apartment, which looked very nice, but the photos do not do the villa justice.
Our many email enquiries were answered in a prompt, efficient, professional and understanding manner. You sounded warm and friendly, and what with all the email exchanges, we had great expectations for the villa and were not disappointed.
So what did we do at the villa? In the mornings, we’d open the windows in the master bedroom and bathroom and enjoy the magnificent and breathtaking views of the vineyards, ponds, forests, and hills. We’d smell the fresh air, and listen for the sounds of birds and other wildlife, sheep, and the guns accompanying the hunting of wild boars. Even the clouds were a sight, as they seemed closer to us and softer and more artistic in shape and groupings!
I’ve never seen a cutlery drawer so neat and with everything arranged so beautifully! We enjoyed the supply of tea and the lovely porcelain. We cooked and prepared hearty breakfasts and the occasional lunch and dinner at the villa, and enjoyed the kitchen and dining room immensely. There is so much room in the apartment, and although the children are all with us, because the master bedroom is in a different section of the apartment, it afforded us a great deal of privacy.
One of the highlights of my visit to Italy was to see a herd of sheep walking past my kitchen window as I prepared breakfast! I later saw this same herd parade past us as we read on the loungers on the lawn. It was a beautiful and funny sight!
Our favourite restaurant was “Da Nisio". Everything was spectacular, from the restaurant and all the candles, to the food, presentation of, service … we loved it!
Thank you for letting us stay at Poggio Pallero. Our family will never forget our visit, we wish your villa much more success, and look forward to a future return.
