This fully refurbished, well appointed, first floor apartment is set in the beautiful gardens of La Gardenia. The La Gardenia complex has extensive well maintained gardens with stunning views overlooking the picturesque harbour of Mahon. An ideal location to relax in the sun watching the yachts cruise by and dream. For fun there is a large pool in the centre of the complex to be enjoyed by children of all ages. The apartment has three bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 6 with one double bedroom and 2 twin rooms. There is a dining area which seats 6 and a lounge with two sofas, wood burning stove, TV with satellite freeview, DVD and CD player. There are 2 balconies, one overlooks the pool area, the other overlooks the rear garden & the villas of the quiet Sol Del Este residential area. There is a modern well equiped kitchen with washing machine, fridge and microwave. The appartment and gardens offer all you require for a happy, safe, self catering holiday.

The La Gardenia apartments are located in the quiet Sol Del Este residential area. There is a small shop & 3 bars (2 serving food) within 3 mins walk. There a small beach with wodden jettys minutes away where you swim and search rockpools. The historic town of Es Castell & the picturesque harbour of Cala Fonts is a leisurely 10 min walk where you will find many bars & restaurants to suit all tastes & budgets. Es Castell also has all the supermarkets, shops, banks etc, you would expect in a small town. From Cala Fonts you can take a boat trip around the harbour. From La Gardenia you can enjoy walks along the harbours edge & through the country lanes to St Esteve & Fort Marlborough. You can also swim off the rocks using the purpose built ladder, it is also an excellent location for fishing. Mahon is a 10 min taxi ride and there is regular bus service from Es Castell. With a car you can easily enjoy all Menorca has to offer, beautiful beches, historic towns, golf.

We have just returned from our first holiday in Menorca staying at this property. From the very initial contact the owner was extremely helpful and very friendly. The property itself and the complex it is on is clean, comfortable and very well cared for, decoration and furniture in the apartment are both very good quality. The gardens, views and the pool are beautiful and very well kept. It is a great base for exploring Menorca either by car, water taxi or on foot with lots to see and do. The harbour at Calas Fonts is about 10 minutes pleasant walk and is very pretty it has some lovely bars and restaurants and the staff and food were excellent.
I would highly recommend a stay and will definitely be retuning myself next year.

La Gardinia

Well, just back from a fantastic 2 week break at La Gardinia. So so much nicer than staying a hotel, lots of room, very clean and a fab kitchen. We did not cook while we were there but such a treat to be able to make a packed lunch to take out with us when we went to the beach. The grounds are also very well looked after and creates a wonderful first impression which does not let you down.

A lovely 15 minute walk into Es Castell with its abundant restaurants, you must try La Puchero and Bar Espagna. It is very nice to be able to leave the bustle of the Fons after dinner and have a quiet walk home back to such a lovely apartment.

I would recommend those who have a car (no trouble parking) to visit the Eroski supermarket on the San Luis to Menorca road - very reasonable and a fab price 'own label' range.

We love Menorca and especially Es Castell and have loved our stay at La Gardinia, we would recommend it to everyone.

La Gardenia

I have stayed at a few apartments at this complex and can honestly confirm this is indeed the best one. The accomodation was comfortable, clean and modern. The owners ensured the kitchen was well equiped and allowed us use of their washing machine and sky tv (ideal if you have children).

The location is excellant for those who wish to have a chilled out holiday, whilst having the luxury of a vibrant night life at Cala Fons close by. The Nautica restaurant at Cala Fons have lovely views of the harbour but make sure you eat on the top floor for this. El Chivito is ideal for those on a budget however ensure you get there before eight as the locals also like a bargain and you may find you have to queue for a table. We discovered a small restauraunt in the back streets called Bar Isla which was run by a lovely young Menorcan man. He has a 15 euro menu on offer and brings your cerveza in forsted glasses. Nice place if you want to be amongst the locals.

We can't wait to go again next year especially as the weather is so awful in good old blighty at this moment in time.

Happy not to be disapointed

It has been 12 years since we last visited La Gardinia, and we did not believe it could be as good as it used tobe.
How happy we were not to be disapointed, the gardens were even better than we remembered, the pool was as good as ever and the buildings were all well maintained and looked after.
The apartment was excellent with beautiful furniture and all home comforts. The kitchen was very well equiped and although we did not cook everything you could possibly need was avaliable.
All the linen was clean and in good condition.
There was ample storage space and all the beds were very comfortable.Both bathrooms were well equiped and clean.
Sol de Este is a relatively quiet spot but with a large variety of restaurants within 15 minuites walk. Mahon,the capital is a short bus ride away where there are many shops, bars and a few clubs.
La Gardinia is a good location for touring the island and visiting its many beaches.
We would highly recomend this apartment, and the pack of food and drink was most welcome.
We will certainly rent this apartment again in the future.

Highly recommended apartment

This apartment comes highly recommended. We have just returned from a weeks stay there and had a fantastic time. The apartment was clean & well maintained and ideally situated for a relaxing holiday. It was very spacious with 2 bathrooms. The customer service provided by the owners was excellent. We took a baby and needed extra equipment - which the owners arranged for us without any hesitation. The apartment has a booster high chair which is ideal for babies/young children. The complex was also well maintained, with stunning gardens and a very clean pool. Mahon is a short drive away or you can catch a bus at the top of the road. Cala Fonts is a short walk away which was possible with the pram, where there are a number of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. There are a few steps down into the complex and the apartment is on the 1st floor but this did not pose any problems with the baby or the pram.

In summary a very enjoyable holiday, ideally located, spacious and highly recommended, we'd definately stay there again.
