The accommodation comprises of entrance hall, to lounge/dining room, downstairs cloakroom and kitchen, French doors to patio garden with Barbecue. Stairs to first floor with the three bedrooms and shower room. Up to the roof terrace where the views to the sea are amazing. The living/dining room is furnished with two sofas some pine units and 28' tv with sky for UK free to view channels. Extendible dining table to seat six. The built in kitchen comprises of electric hob, oven and extractor fan, new fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, cafetiere and all the usual requirements. The house is on a small development of thirty houses that surround a communal pool and small leisure area.

This has got to be the most underdeveloped area within 20 minutes of the beach, but even the beach is very non commercial, there are several bars and restaurants, a couple of low level hotels and not much else. If you want commercial you have Roquettas to the west about 40 minutes. you have Motril to the east with plenty of shops etc. Of course if you want to travel a little further you have Nerja about an hour and a bit away and Malaga and all the commercialism the Costa Del Sol offers less than two hours drive. To the north we have the Alpujarras which are rambling unspoilt hills for all sorts of activities and adventures, with the Sierra Nevada about two hours away also. Then you have Granada with the Alhambra and all the rest of the tourist activities associated with this city. Closer to home you have Albondon, never have i arrived at a village and felt a warmth from everyone in the village from the first contact.

  • After confirmation of availability by e-mail or phone a provisional booking is held up to 10 days pending a non refundable deposit of 10%. Once received, confirmation will be sent by e-mail or fax. Balance of payment: The balance payable six weeks prior to arrival payable to owner by GPB cheque, The £100 damage deposit shall be deposited with the key holder/caretaker upon arrival. You are strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel insurance, including a cancellation clause. A damage deposit of 150 Euros (or £100) is required, payment and will be held throughout the duration of your stay, this will be returned subject to inspection of property and its contents. (£0 retained in 2006 from guests) The number of occupants must not exceed six under any circumstances. The accommodation is available from 4pm and will be vacated on departure day at 10am.
  • Rental rates include all bed linen, towels but not beach towels. A 10% deposit payable when booking, the balance payable six weeks prior to arrival to owner, The £100 damage deposit shall be given to key holder upon arrival. We can arrange airport transfers if required.

Albondon: It is placed in the Southern slope of the La Contraviesa Mountain range, on the hill of the Encina, from this town of the Alpujarra an impressive horizon of vineyards and almonds tree can be seen. The layout of its streets and the architecture of its white houses maintain the Islamic air of its origins. To these attractions it is necessary to add the existence of numerous cortijos that make of the area a place of great tourist interest. A few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea, Albondón offers to the visitor the possibility of enjoying the mountain as much as the beach. Its religious celebrations, in honour of San Luis, take place from the 24 to the 26 of August and they place the attention in a Moors and Christians representation with romances transmitted from parents to children and a parade with mules and horses. The celebration of San Isidro has its place in Albondón as well, where the wine of the region, the migas and the sausages can be tasted.

Walking or mountain biking: Las Alpujarras is a particularly delightful area to explore on foot or bike and there are many well-signposted routes, ranging from a short stroll, to day long hikes into the Sierra Nevada. For the really serious walker there are two famous long-distance foot paths that cross Las Alpujarras. One is the GR-7 which begins in Tarifa in Cadiz province and crosses Europe all the way to Greece. The other is the GR-142 which runs from Lanjaron to Fiñana on the northern side of the Sierra Nevada in Almeria.

Skiing: Whilst Albondon cannot be considered as a ski village, for those on a non ski resort budget it may well be within the reach of the Sierra Nevada. Around an hour to Granada and the sierra Nevada a further half an hour beyond may well be interesting for those that want maybe half their holiday on the piste and the other half in the village with the beach 20 minutes away and roquettas with it's huge commercial centre within the hour along the Costa De Almeria..
