Calpe Holiday
Review Submitted: September 10, 2008

Building and apartment exceeded our expectations.
Everything in the block (entrances, hall, lifts, car park, etc) maintained in pristine condition.
Outside area and pool spotless and well-maintained. Pool easily large enough to accommodate all holidaymakers in the block.
Apartment modern, clean, spacious and easily accommodates two adults with additional sleeping for 2 others in the large lounge. My daughter (15) and her friend (15) came to visit for two nights while we were there and didn't restrict the space at all.
Plenty of clean linen, pillows, towels, etc, provided to last us a fortnight - facilities in the flat for cooking, washing, etc, first class.
The large terrace adds considerably to the space and has a table (+4 chairs), a couple of sun loungers and, handily, a huge clothes horse for drying - so much room, all can be in use at the same time.
The air-conditioning was a Godsend given the average temperature was around 33C and was easy to use.
The location of the apartment, I would say, is just about the best you could get in the resort. On the edge of the main town centre of Calpe, two minutes from the beachfront, everything is within short walking distance. Even the far end of the resort (the port and Levante beach) are only a 10-15 minute stroll away.
Calpe itself is a pretty self-contained resort with plenty of smaller shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. If, however, you want to do 'major shopping'. take a trip to Alicante. The main beach has got to be one the best I've seen anywhere and, even though we were there in August, there was always room.
Although the apartment had really good cooking facilities, we ate out just about every night because of the value and quality provided by the many restaurants/cafeterias. Met some ex-pat 'locals' and they told us the did the same most evenings.
Favourite local bar was La Parada (<1min walk from Apt) - owned by some very friendly Belgians and a perfect place to chill out, meet friends and have some good conversations late in the evenings.
Didn't really need the car, although handy for going to bigger supermarkets and a secure parking place is provided at the apartment. Had planned to do a bit of driving/sightseeing but, to be honest, didn't want to leave Calpe - might do some next time I go.
Owner was very pleasant and helpful and lets you get on with your holiday as soon as you arrive - was available via phone/text whenever required.
Would recommend to all.
