Stone Cottage with Pool

La Matha is an old stone built converted barn set away from the road amongst vineyards. It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and spacious living accommodation. Downstairs consists of a large open plan space containing distinct kitchen, dining and sitting areas. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom, bedroom with bunkbeds and a family bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge and microwave oven. There is also a washing machine in the utility room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - one double and one twin with additional futon bed. The twin bedroom has an en-suite shower room with a toilet. The house has TV with DVD, stereo and hairdryer. Linen, towels (including swimming) and cleaning are all provided. Outside there is a 10m by 5m swimming pool and a covered terrace with a barbeque and outdoor dining table and chairs. There are also sun loungers available by the pool. The garden is a good size for kids to run around in, and is safe and secluded.

Nearest airport: Bergerac at 40 kilometres

The hamlet Caplong is aout 2km away from La Matha. About 7km to the west is the village of Pellegrue, which has a charming covered market space, and where you will also find a patisserie/boulangerie, supermarket, pharmacy and a bank with cash point facilities. There are also a couple of bars where a limited menu is available. The town of Duras is about 8km to the south, and has similar facilities to Pellegrue, but with slightly more in the way of choice. Duras also has a nice restaurant, as well as a number of bars and brasseries. Duras has a lovely old Chateau, the Chateau des Ducs, which is open for viewings every day from March to the end of October, and at weekends from November to the end of February. St Foy la Grande is a bustling market town on the river Dordogne about 10km to the north. You will find most things you need there and there is a fantastic traditional market there on Saturday mornings, where there are stalls selling all kinds of fresh local produce.
