La Riviere is an exceptional property in delightful grounds (6000 m2) within walking distance of one of the area's most picturesque villages, with its own little stream. It is in the most tranquil of positions surrounded by nature. A perfect hideaway for couples and families who value their privacy - no neighbours - and who expect the very highest standard of accommodation and facilities. The pool is something to behold with gently sloping sides of Herault stone. The house, a former bergerie has been beautifully restored. It is stone built with exposed wooden beams. Summer kitchen, barbecues, bread oven, wooden deck above the river. Shade and sunshine everywhere. Garden furniture. The village, less than 5 minutes walk away from the house, is famous for its dolomitic circus, an amazing natural rock structure with delightful walks throughout and its XII the century church perched high upon a stone outcrop. The village has two good restaurants including a pizzeria and a bar.

Notes: There are large dining areas all around the house, one by the pool house next to the barbecue, an other one at the front entrance, covered, and one small and cosy table by the river. The house comprises of a large sitting room with a beautiful fireplace. A large television room four bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Several barbecues, a working bread oven, and a lovely wooden deck above the river for sipping your early evening drinks.

Surrounding countryside: The surrounding countryside comprises spectacular vineyards - the largest cultivated vines in Europe - and olive groves. A short drive takes you to the Haut Languedoc National Park with stunning scenery, beautiful walks with lakes and mountains and a wealth of wildlife. The lake Salagou : a blue jewel in an ocre red ocean - is only 5 minutes by car

PEZENAS: Pezenas is a very pretty medieval town with an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants just 20 minutes drive away. The centre is full of buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. there is also an excellent market on Saturday, which provides an ideal opportunity to stock up on the wonderful regional delicacies, fresh salads and vegetables, meats, cheeses, seafood and of course the local wine. Take a stroll through the old town with its unique craft and clothes shops and finally stop at one or two of the many bars or bistros in the 'Place du 14 Juillet'.

GORGES D'HERIC - CAP D'AGDE: Just 30 minutes away, the Heric Gorges is one of the most outstanding beauty spots in the Espinouse mountain range. The walls of the Gorge are the finest rock faces in the region and the area is popular with walkers and climbers. The paths and rock pools provide a wonderful venue for a days exploring and picnicking. There is a super little scenic road train which takes visitors on a picturesque route as far as the Gouffre du Cerisier when you can choose either the train to return or take a splendid walk back down past the rock pools and foaming waters of the Heric Gorge. The Cap d'Agde holiday resort is only 40 minutes drive from the property. It has some 14 kilometres of fine beaches and many attractions for the children such as 'Toonland' and the famous 'Aqualand Water Park' with its giant flumes, water slides and wave machine as well as a super 'tots area'.

Golf: There are a few golf courses around . The most famous one is in Montpellier, about 40 kms away. The nearest one is in Lamalou Les Bains, 35 kms away.
