The cottage is Old Florida style with a private and direct access to the sandy beach. Step off the deck and let your feet touch the warm sand; with 2 decks you can choose your view. Enjoy the spectacular sunset over the Gulf and don’t be surprised to see dolphins swimming close to shore. After relaxing on the beach enjoy a refreshing, yet private, outdoor shower all the while enjoying the gulf view! Pine Island is part of The Nature Coast. Sit in the landscaped garden with its rare coral walls and observe the large variety of birds. Pine Island is a birdwatchers and photographers haven. There are many activities which are available as rentals close by; fishing, boating, canoeing, power boating and sailing. Or if you prefer use the cottage’s two-person ocean kayak. Another local favourite is moonlight sailing. Other outings that you may enjoy include visiting the nearby Manatee preserve (Brooksville), while passing the pristine salt marshes on the way. It is decorated with marble and decorator glass tiles throughout, a real feast for the eyes. The shower room is also decorated with marble and has a glass shower stall with multi-body jets. The outdoor shower has a private enclosure which allows you to enjoy the gulf breeze and views as you wash off after a day on the beach. All bathrooms include luxurious towels and toiletries.

In the evening pull up the garden chairs and enjoy a fire in the outdoor, built-in-fire-pit or bar-b-que yourself a wonderful dinner, while enjoying the privacy of a screened in terrace. Walk along these pristine unspoilt beaches and enjoy the best of Florida's Nature Coast. In addition the Sandcastle beach rental includes the use of 4 bicycles and two kayayks, a 2-person and a single. We also have a ping pong table. The cottage is WiFi friendly!

The Cottage: After your day out return to the Pine Island beach house. The master bedroom has a queen size bed overlooking the gulf. The master bath is complete with an air-bubble soaking tub. The guest bedroom has a twin bed with a trundle easily converted to a queen size bed. And if you should have an extra guest pull out the sofa bed. The cottage is complete with a state-of-the-art kitchen including designer appliances and Italian granite counters. The den features a flat screen TV with satellite access as well as Internet availability.

Dont forget the sugar !

The House was everything we hoped for, beautifully furnished and equipped, with the exception of the beach furniture which needed renewing,eveything was to the highest standard and of the highest quality. The grounds were also beautifully kept. However we were less enamoured with the location . The house is situated directly on the beach but the beach is extemely short and for our party who like to swim and walk along the shore it did not tick the box . Having said this,it would be ideal for young children as you have walk out forever before the water gets deeper. The island is quite isolated ( a fourteen mile round trip through swamp land to the nearest supermarket ,so dont forget the sugar !) and the one bar ,Willies closed at 8.30.On a more positive note we kayaked with the dolphins and the sunsets were truly spectacular. This is a place for those who really wish to totally chill. As visitors from the UK we wished to see some of the Gulf Coast and to do this,we had to drive long distances . House,10out of 10 Location (for us) 5 out of 10
We throughly enjoyed having our own base but next year will definitely pick somewhere a little more accessible.

Beautiful, relaxing spot

This is a dream home. Sit on the front deck and enjoy the morning sun...watch the sunset from the back deck overlooking the gulf. Wake up to the sound of the gulf. Our kids (9 and 11) were in heaven. They were happy just playing on the beach our whole week. They also loved walking to the park to get an ice cream at "Willie's". We loved canoeing down the Weeki Wache river and kayaking in the Crystal River area. There are kayaks on the property, too, that we used and enjoyed. Our only complaint was that the bikes really needed tuning up. We would definitely recommend this house, especially for families like ours who like nature and just kicking back.

Movie Set Perfection

My breath was taken away- the house is picture perfect, the setting unreal, the mood -divine everything 'larger than life' I was so transported it felt like I had entered into a set for a romantic movie. The owners were attentive to every detail and wish. Watching the spectacular sunsets on the deck with a fire blazing in the fire pit at the water's edge was truly magical! And kayaking around the island was very special.I have NEVER experienced anything like it before, I plan on coming again and again....
