Les Hiboux is a traditional farmhouse in peaceful open countryside near Vendome (approx 150 miles from ferry terminal at Caen). It is part of an old farm with another house and barns on site. Extra accommodation may be available in the owner’s house. Comfortable, relaxing accommodation. Central heating and log fire . Downstairs - large well equipped kitchen stainless steel gas cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine & dishwasher. Large living room/ dining room, TV, DVD, music centre, two sofas, including comfortable double sofa bed. Inner hall with large bedroom with 2 single/large double bed. Family bathroom with bath, 2 basins, shower and bidet; separate WC. Upstairs - 2 large double bedrooms, one with en-suite . A separate well equipped bathroom. Outside - Heated fenced swimming pool with large dining patio. Pool furniture and access to another well equipped shower/changing room. Cot, buggy, high chair, small child bed -very child friendly accomodation

Well-equipped bathroom with bath and shower for bedroom 2. There is a large family bathroom with bath shower bidet and 2 basins available next to bedroom 3 which is downstairs. All bedlinen is provided. The bedrooms are all large and we are very flexible EG can be set uu for 4 adults with 4 children: 6 adults with up to 3 children sharing rooms. An excellent place to get away from it all : Set in a peaceful hamlet , 1 km from nearest villge which has essential commodities including excellent baker.12 Km from Vendome , historical town with ruined Chateaux wide range of excellent restaurants, interesting and varied shops and wide range of supermarkets. The Friday market is large and bustling and some shops ar open on Sunday morning. There are many art exhibitions and a menue of musical events including opera available throughout the summer. There are other great markets at Mondouleau on Monday and Montoire on Wednesday and Saturday. Montoire has an international Music festival in July/August. There is a spectacular market at Amboise on Sunday morning and a chance to visit the Chateau and the Leonardo da Vinci House and Museum. The Leonardo da Vinci museum is mainly outdoors and has life size working models of his inventions and is wonderful for children. There is an adventure playground picnic spots and cafes and restaurants on site.

Chateaux of the Loire: The house is in easy reach of of many of the most beautiful Chateaux of the Loire; Blois -intertesting museums and mechanical dragons. Chaumont-great garden exhibition in the summer which is very child friendly. Chenonceaux-rent a boat to vue the chateau from the river. Lots if vineyards within easy reach.

We have just returned from a wonderful relaxing stay at Les Hiboux. This is a charming, spacious farmhouse which has been very tastefully renovated. The heated pool is perfect and much appreciated in the summer. The owner is very helpful, wishing to make your stay as special as possible. Les Hiboux is located in a very peaceful area with lovely open views out into the country - very tranquil.

I have stayed in a number of gites over the years and this is most definitely in the top two. Beautifully maintained this wonderfully peaceful gite is the perfect place to relax. We took our parents, all in their 80s, and all agreed that we would like to return. If you are looking for peace and quiet and beautiful countryside Les Hiboux has it all.
