Ker-Eol is very close to the pretty town of Pont-Aven. It is a picturesque port popular with tourists due in part to its art galleries. The artist Gauguin came to Pont-Aven in the 1880s to paint before leaving for Tahiti.
There are many beautiful beaches, particular favourites include Pointe De Trévignon, Tahiti Beach and Port Manech. All are very beautiful.
There is also the town of Concarneau with the Ville Close, a small, highly fortified 13th century citadelle on a rocky island in the bay. Concarneau has a good aquarium, sailing schools and a pleasant seafront and promenade. There is also an excellent selection of shops and restaurants.
The Pointe du Raz, known as the Land’s End of both Finistere and France, has been designated a “Grande Site Nationale” It is a dramatic visit, especially the deep fissures which fill and drain with a deafening surf-roar.
There is an abundance of fantastic eateries all across Brittany accompanied by some stunning locations.
