A stunning restored stone farmhouse, fully equipped with the emphasis on family holidays and ideally located in central Dordogne and within easy reach of everything that the region has to offer. Situated in a small and peaceful hamlet that nestles between two bustling, riverside market towns and located just to the west of Perigueux, the ancient and beautiful capital city of the famous, and much loved Dordogne-Perigord area. The traditionally restored property offers large, fully enclosed and private grounds as well as spacious living quarters with it’s four bedrooms and three bath/shower rooms. The private pool, which is one of the largest private swimming pools in the Dordogne, has lovely views across the surrounding countryside and woodland. A perfect location for the perfect family holiday!

Our property is located in a hamlet between 2 riverside market towns (the River Isle), being: Saint Astier and Neuvic sur L'Isle - both can be reached by car within 5 minutes. Bakers, restaurants and shops all close by with great market in Saint Astier on Thursdays Saint Astier has river canoing available all summer with rentals from the campsite on the banks of the river and Neuvic sur L'isle offers both canoeing and electric boat hire. We are also only 1/2 an hour drive from the beautiful leisure lake of 'Lac Jemaye' which is a wonderful place to spend a family day, picnic etc and has a lakeside beach.

  • Deposit of 25% of the total cost payable to secure your booking. Booking not confirmed until payment received. Balance of cost including security deposit of £400 payable no later than 8 weeks before start date of holiday. The security-breakages deposit is refunded by bank transfer 7 days after the end of your holiday subject to no deductions for breakages/damage etc. Prices shown are for up to a maximum of 10 persons. Cancellations made within the 8 week period prior to your holiday will be refunded in full subject to the dates being resold at full value.
  • **SPECIAL RATES FOR SMALL GROUPS & COUPLES** Outside of the main rental season, the property can be booked at specially reduced rates for smaller groups. This may suit house hunters or people looking for longer term winter lets. - please contact the owners with details for any specific requests.

    **SHORT BREAKS**
  • The private swimming pool is available for use from early May until at least late September, weather permitting. Rentals rates quoted include all utilities, bed linen, towels (including pool towels) and tea towels. Bed linen and towels are changed once during a 2 week holiday. Should you wish to have the property cleaned during your stay, a private maid service can be arranged (subject to prior notice) for a supplement of 150 euros per clean. During winter months the rates use of the oil central heating system is provided at a weekly supplement of 80 euros per week. There is also a wood burning fireplace insert available only for use during the Winter period in the farmhouse kitchen. Use of the fireplaces is not permitted during the Summer rentals season with fireplaces being blocked for safety reasons. Firewood can be purchased from the owners during Winter rentals by prior request at a supplement of 60 euros per week payable upon arrival.

Wonderful Holiday Location

What an exceptional property!
From the moment you enter through the blue gates and park the car, one is surrounded by an oasis of calm and tranquillity. Beautifully kept lawns, fruit trees galore, an exceptional pool, and a lovely old house, carefully converted to provide spacious accommodation. Although there were only two of us, it would be possible for two families to share and not feel constrained.
The descriptions given were accurate, the property was clean and well maintained and Tony dropped by to say hello. (His office is in a neighbouring village.) We found all we wanted in nearby St Astier which has good restaurants and an extensive market on Thursdays. We would have no hesitation in recommending Guibaudie to friends or relations and we would like to return. Incidentally, access to the property and to the surrounding areas and places of interest is easy, but we spent much time just enjoying the house and grounds.

Wonderful Holiday Cottage

Our holiday at the cottage was beyond our expectations. The property was clean and well maintained and the owner's description was absolutely accurate. The house, pool and gardens were wonderful and enjoyed by all members of the party, both young and old. I highly recommend this property for families with children of all ages.

Gibaudie was an ideal place to get away from it all - quiet and spacious with pleasant views of surrounding countryside. The most demanding task was a daily trip to a nearby boulangerie...
Plenty to do if you're prepared to travel a short distance, otherwise the splendid pool and BBQ provide for most of the needs of a restful break. The farmhouse itself was delightful and well equipped.
The owner was always happy to help with local enquiries.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would heartily recommend it.

A lovely get-away

This is a beautiful gite, with plenty of space (we were seven and didn't feel remotely squashed). The rooms have real character and were very comfortable - plus there is a variety of eating options: dining room, large homely kitchen, sunny patio table or at the stone table by the pool. It was all immaculate and Tony was helpful and always easy to reach. The pool is the jewel in its crown. It was hard to drag ourselves away on the last day!

A perfect holiday rental!!

We had the pleasure of staying here in June 2009 – it was fantastic – it looks great in the photos, but they simply don’t do it justice. The location is great with everything in reasonable reach, but it’s the house and surroundings that are the real stars. The house is very, very spacious and full of character – it is extremely private and in a lovely, peaceful setting. The gardens are wonderful and I don’t think you’re likely to get a better pool in the Dordogne – my son (almost 4) would have spent his whole holiday in it if he could!

The house was spotless and had everything you could need. We travelled with a baby and a 4-year old and the house and garden were perfect for them. The thoughtful owners supplied loads of baby equipment and toys, as well as other items like a cool box and adaptors, all of which help to make for a superb rental. Having the owners there to show you around and nearby in case of emergency it also a plus. Overall, I would recommend this and I hope we’re able to holiday there again!
