Pretty converted Bergerie (stone barn) with lovely garden, secluded courtyard and large covered terrace for a self-catering holiday in a village close to the sea. Enjoy the beautiful gated front garden perfect for a breakfast in the sun, the sheltered courtyard for sunbathing or for a shady lunch under the almond tree. The house is dominated by a vast lounge with a huge fireplace, seating for ten, a large French dinning table, antique furniture, and double glass doors onto the front garden. The house sleeps six adults and an odd child or two in three double beds, in two light and sunny ground floor bedrooms and a large mezzanine high above the lounge with access onto the big covered terrace. The fully tiled bathroom has a bath with shower, toilet, sink and heated towel rail. The fitted kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge, oven and hob, dish washer, and pans and utensils ready for any chef. There is also a utility area with seperate washing machine and dryer.

The house is located 6km from long sandy Mediterranean beaches. The beautiful town of Leucate is 5 kms away with many great restaurants and shops, a regular market, and a wonderful family beach. The neighbouring seaside town of Franqui, with its vast beach, is a popular place for beach activities such as windsurfiing, kitesurfing, and horse riding. In addition the house is ideally placed for a trip to explore the vineyards of Fitou that surround, or the dramatic hills behind with its rivers and gorges which are dotted with ancient castles and ruins. The historic towns of Perpignan and Narbonne with their stunning squares, canals, forts, and cathedrals are both within 30 minutes, whilst the staggering castle city that is Carcasonne is only an hour away. In addition the mountains of the Pyrenees and Spain can be reached within the hour whilst the bustle of Barcelona is only 2 hours on the Autoroute.
