La Gare, Agonac was built in 1890 and is part of what used to be Hotel de la Gare and is directly opposite the station, which still operates. However only six trains a day stop and a car is recommended. Perigueux has all the facilities of a major town and many squares with bars restaurants etc and a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Brantome is 15 Km to the north and is one of the most picturesque small towns in France and has many bars & restaurants including the famous Moulin de l’Abbaye which has a Michlein star as does the nearby Moulin du Roc. Brantome also has a market on Friday mornings.

Agonac is a traditional French village located in the rolling wooded countryside that lies to the North East of Perigueux. The main house, its “dependence” (outbuilding), and enclosed courtyard are part of what used to be the station hotel which was built in 1890. Agonac’s 12 century Roman church is just across the road and Place de la Gare (between La Gare and the station) is often used for boule and other local activities. During the last year the first floor of the dependence has been completely refurbished to a high standard to make it a 55 sq metre one bedroom, two bathroom appartment. The courtyard has two stone terraces which enjoys both natural shade and direct sunlight depending on the time of day. Below the appartment is a garage/workshop which was the bar for the hotel. If required this area could be made available for those travelling with old cars or motorcycles

A Sejour (living/kitchen/dining area) with sofa/easy chair seating for 4 and dining seating for 4/6, TV, radio etc and electric radiator heating for cooler months and a cloakroom leads to the first bathroom. The “cuisinette” has a two ring gas hob, a combination microwave/convection oven and grill, and a fridge. The door from the sejour leads to the double bedroom which also has electric radiator heating and it’s own on suite bathroom. There are two exterior doors, one from the small balcony and one the from the staircase leading down to the terrace. The whole appartment has been completely refitted including oak flooring whilst many of the original features such as the roof beams have been retained.
