Further details for this holiday villa rental in Calabria, Italy

Notes on accommodation: Villa Case Rosse has recently been built. The villa is child-friendly and features a spacious living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms over two floors. The villa terraces, on both floors, are off the dining room, living room and two of the bedrooms and have stunning sea views.

Beach: The nearest beach is only three minutes away by car. There is a restaurant at the beach that serves food and drinks all day. There is always plenty of space on the beach even in the peak season. Italians tend to go for a siesta from Midday through to 4pm and the beach is usually deserted then! There are a number of bars and restaurants along the beach at Belvedere (10 minutes by car).

Golf: The local Golf Club has a nine hole course and is a 10 minute drive away, where restaurant, bar and swimming pool facilities are available.

Fabulous family holiday in Calabria

NSW Kent
Review Submitted: September 27, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We spent a week in this lovely villa in August having spent a couple of days in a very busy Sorrento previously.
The villa is absolutely beautiful, very comfortable and very well appointed - every thing you could possibly need. Much more like a home from home than a holiday rental.
The location of the villa is stunning - fabulous views of the mountains and the sea. The swimming pool had just been completed when we arrived - the pool could not be faulted.
As well as a glorious infinity pool for all to enjoy, there is also a small childrens roped off pool area for small ones to cool down in safety. The gardeners were busy finishing off the landscaping which I am sure will look wonderful when finished.

Although you could be forgiven for wanting to spend all your time by the pool, there are also lots of very nearby beaches that had beautiful clear water and were very safe for young children. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby, lovely towns clinging to nearby hilltops and a highlight for us was a morning spent at a beautiful nearby monastry

There are lots of excellent local restaurants serving delicious pizza, pasta and ice cream etc and also large well stocked supermarkets selling fabulous local produce if you want to self cater.

In summary, this was a very relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting in a place where many Italians choose to take their holidays.
Owner's Response: Great to hear you had a good time and hope to welcome you back again soon!

A place you really get addicted to !

Grønbæk Silkeborg, Denmark
Review Submitted: August 30, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Last summer we spent a week in this beautiful house and when we were planning this year’s summer holiday we realized that it did not seem to be possible to rent a house like this. So we decided to do something that we’ve never done before – going back. A decision we do not regret, as the house is exactly as wonderful as we remembered.
What we like is the space and nice furnished house and specially the outdoors area with shadow at the lower terrace and the absolutely gorgeous upper balcony with the view that one can never get enough off.
In this part of Italy we meet Italians in their own country on their conditions, and not a whole bunch of Danish tourists :-).The beach at Citadella Del Capo is our favorite, but we are sure that the new swimming pool will be great in addition. In the evening we enjoyed the quietness (supplied by cicadas), and if we wanted to feel the city nightlife, we could easily reach Belvedere, Diamante or market in Scalea.
Still 2 month after returning we are talking about how good it would be to be at Case Rosse right now.
Owner's Response: You'll have to come back again and enjoy the newly completed pool!

Review Submitted: August 5, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We just returned from a glorious week in Calabria and would highly recommend this villa to our friends. The furnishings were beautiful- beds comfortable - and the view - couldn't ask for anything better. I must say we were worried that having no AC would be a problem but that was not the case - even on the hottest days - the cool ocean breeze made it bearable. The view from the terrace was unbelievable and on a clear day you can see Stromboli!

The beaches in the area are beautiful as is the water. There is plenty to see and do close by and the information book at the villa was very helpful.

Only negative is the two hair pin turns coming up to the villa. After a couple of days though we became experts and it didn't bother us at all. The view is worth it!

We would definitely rent again and recommend it to our friends!

Spacious bright villa

Fivi Tuscany
Review Submitted: May 28, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
The villa is situated in a lofty position high on the hill overlooking the bay with nice views particularly at night. As the villa has been recently commissioned, it was in tip top condition, immaculately clean, tastefully furnished with very comfy beds. I particularly liked the design feature of an orange tree growing in the open living area.

We knew when booking that work on the pool had not commenced and that the garden wasn't as yet landscaped which was not an issue at all as the outdoor areas were again spacious and especially the upstairs terrace was very well thought out and absolutely private.

The only downside for us was the steep hill access with two very tight hairpin bends. Our little rental car (a Clio) could only make it uphill in first gear - though after a while one does get used to it.

The weather wasn't very good whilst we were there (but that didn't bother us as it was much worse elsewhere in Italy), so we did a lot of touring. Highlights were Matarea (though unfortunately it poured as we reached the statue of the Redeemer right on pinnacle); we had a glorious sunny day down in Tropea and Pizzo. Lovely beaches. Other days just spent pottering around locally, taking in some markets and venturing inland Calabria.

Should we find ourselves back in Calabria again I would have no hesitation in renting this property again - but once the pool is up and running! And the only reason we scored the experience down by one point is because of the access. Otherwise its perfect.

A Wonderful Experience

Spencer100 Marden, Kent
Review Submitted: March 17, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
I stayed at the property with my brother and his girlfriend. We had never visited the region before and were more than pleasantly surprised. The villa is decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard and its location is unbelievable. Although we went in February we spent most afternoons lounging on the upstairs balcony enjoying the warm sun and tranquility of the setting. Nic, the owner, advised us that we were the first visitors to the villa (apart from his family) and that there might be one or two things that he'd forgotten about when kitting out the property - well we didn't find anything that he'd overlooked! We are all going back in June for another week as we loved it so much. The owners had left a guide at the villa that gave us directions to local places and restaurants which we found really useful. We also drove up to Pompeii and Naples which are not too far away. Although we didn't do any sunbathing we went to the nearby beach for a stroll and liked what we saw! We visited Belvedere some evenings for dinner. All the restaurants that we tried were good value for money and served great food. We particularly liked "Calypso" - it does great ice cream during the day and we had some good dinners there too during the evenings. Also liked "La Torre" that was very close to the villa - fantastic pizza for 5 Euros!!!! All in all, a very relaxed holiday in a beautiful location. Whilst there is still minor development going on in the location it didn't bother us at all. The builders seemed to disappear from midday onwards and they were located much further up the mountain. The villa is spotlessly clean and the furnishings are beautiful. 10/10.
Owner's Response: We aim to continually add information to both our villa information pack and website. Please feel free to add/submit any information you think might be helpful to future guests - including ourselves!

We will also keep everyone up to speed on the pool and club house (currently with the planning office).
