Corporate stay in Dalgety Bay

The accomodation was booked as an alternative to several hotel rooms while our company was in Edinburgh launching our award winning new database product to the Scottish Market.

As this involved a great deal of meetings in the first week I was a little unsure as to how it would work our being back at a house each night rather than a hotel. I shouldn't have worried, those evenings spent having our dinner al fresco looking out over the spectacular river forth were some of the most productive we have ever had as a sales team.

The local facilities were exactly as described with an especially memorable evening had in the nearby "Clubhouse" bar and restaurant complex.

During the second week of our stay I can honestly say the house payed for itself when we decide to invite 2 of our potential customers along to enjoy the view and sample some of my collegues home cooking (the large modern oven was fantastic and made cooking for the large numbers an easy event).

As we sipped our way throught the bottle of congac our landlord had arranged for and watched the boats sail under the majestic Forth Rail Bridge our customers commented on the perfect evening they were having.

The next day we were only an hour into our final trade event in Edinburgh when they called to confirm a very substantial order - needless to say we celebrated more than just a little that evening!

After treating ourselves to a few holes at the excellent Aberdour golf course nearby (well all work and no play....) and a nice tour of the nearby historic Dunfermline City centre, we headed back to London eager to retun later in the year.

So what can I say other than a big thank you to Mike for making our stay perfect and helping us out with the kind of service you just can't buy in a hotel.

Amazing location. Ideal for family gathering

We had a wonderful week at Dalgetty Bay to celebrate our Silver Wedding with friends and family from all over the world. I think the highlights were watching the lights on the bridges at night, having Sunday breakfast sat on the large decking in the sunshine and seeing the children exploring the sea shore on the coastal walk. Simple pleasures - but they make many happy memories and we are sure we will want to return. Great communciation with the owner added to the success of the week.

Wonderful location

We could not have selected a more perfectly located property if we tried. The views over the forth are wonderful. the property is centrally located for all areas.
The property is spacious and holds 10 people easily. It is modern and bright.

If this property was ever to go on the market I would certainly want to purchase it, not for a holiday let but to live there.

Could have been so much better

Our family stayed for two weeks, June/July 2008, i had to give this property 2 out of five , but could so easily of been a 3, if only the oven and dishwasher worked, the outside areas were maintained, i.e grass had been cut. Not what i expected at all, felt quite decieved. The beach 10 meters from the house is not suitable for young children, no sand just large rocks and rubbish on it. Better beaches further away. On the plus side views are lovely and decking area is great , if not for that i think i would have packed up and left. Great for a base for edinburgh and area around, but not the holiday house i had hoped for, Got a refund of some money but still felt ripped off. Owner did apologise, very nice man, but got the impression these unfixed problems we nothing new.
Owner's Response: Just wanted to add the house has been fully booked all summer and everyone else has been very happy with the property.

The cooker is 100% fully working; seems issue was with the user not the equipment. Although I have now also upgraded the microwave to a higher spec. full combination (electric oven) with grill. This is more practical for smaller parties or ones which need simpler operation; sure will help in future.
Agreed that there is not a dishwasher included; although the listing clear does not show a dishwasher so think the gripe is unreasonable. The lawn is cut at least once every 2 weeks; the photos on website are a true reflection of the property.

I walk along fife coastal path every other day; and rarely find rubbish on it when I do I collect and drop in bin; I really find this comment misleading I would invite any other potential customers to do a search on fife coastal path on the web. There are long golden sandy beaches within walking distance from the house. I’m sure all coastlines have some rocks on them so really don’t understand the comment. (please let me know if anyone would like photos ).

I really feel after staying somewhere for 5 days then raising complaints and demanding over 50% plus of your money back as highly unreasonable behaviour; I did pay back the requested funds reducing the cost of the accommodation to less than that of a youth hostel which I still consider generous. On top of this & as requested I changed bedding to100% cotton, installed a new washing line, provided free BBQ gas, provided brand new pans & crockery, additional towels made my own garage avail. so party could store a motorbike. I also left a welcome pack of bread milk, coffee, tea, etc. I quickly resolved 100% of the issues that were raised.

Obanxx I wish you the very best for the future but I feel I really must have missed something here which resulted in you being unhappy which I must say is a first in my experience. It seems you had hoped for a 5 star hotel with thailand class beach at bottom of garden + room service and all for youth hostel prices. I really feel your expectations have been very highly unreasonable/unrealistic ?

I really hope this negative and misleading review will not be off putting; this is clearly the intention of its author.
Please let me know if there are any special requirements before arrival to avoid disappointment.

Great View

I stayed in the property in August last year and enjoyed every moment of my stay. My pouch and kids loved the beach and there is loads of coastline to go for walks.

This house is a very modern well equiped property, decorated to a high standard throughout. It features a great size living area with fantaistic views overlooking the Firth of Forth.

All the rooms are spacious and the home has lots of outside space to enjoy the garden on a nice summer evening.

Its location is pretty central allowing for easy travel to Edinburgh (30 mins), Glasgow (45 mins) and even up to the Highlands for a longer day trip.
