A thoughtfully renovated old farmhouse, nestling in a small friendly village set in low rolling hills of olive and orange groves. Casa da Coruja is a romantic hideaway with modern day comforts, spacious with lovely furnishings. It is tucked away in the beautiful countryside surrounding the old castle town of Silves, seeped in history, and within easy reach of beaches and golf courses. The cottage has one bedroom, furnished with a king size bed, sliding doors to small terrace with chairs - perfect for a couple. Views to the back of the cottage down to the valley below and hill above. En-suite bath and toilet. Study room with desk and chairs. Separate walk in shower room with bidet and toilet. Comfortable sitting room with large sofa, English television channels and DVD player. Fully equipped kitchen with dining table and washing machine. Very pretty, spacious and sunny terrace to the front of the cottage with chairs, table and chiminea for outside dining, view over olive grove.

Nearest Airport: Faro at 30 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 10.0 Miles

Just ten minutes drive from Silves,with its spectacular 8th century Moorish castle, this pretty town has been occupied for centuries. Iron Age relics have been found in and around Silves which pay testament to the town’s long history. The cottage is situated about 15 kms from the beautiful beaches of the Algarve and very close to the large reservoir 'Barragem do Arade' for fishing and walking. Casa da Coruja is situated in a sleepy village of just a few houses with several great local restaurants within 2 miles. There are numerous golf courses around, several within about 20 minutes drive. Please ask us for details as we are keen golfers! Horse-riding is close by and plenty of walks with local wildlife. It is aptly named Owl Cottage, keep a look out for the 'Little Owl'. He will probably be watching you on the approach to the cottage from one of the old olive trees.

  • Preferred changeover day of Saturday but can be negotiable.
    Minimum one week stays with extra days pro-rata.
    Linen and towels changed weekly (for longer stays).
    Non refundable deposit required to confirm booking and full payment 2 weeks prior to arrival.
    Payment by cheque, bank transfer or via credit card using paypal.
    Welcome pack waiting in cottage, includes water, milk and wine.
    My parents live in the cottage next door should you have any questions whilst you are there.
    Winter months - logs supplied at an additional cost.
