In a beautifully renovated Charentaise House we offer a self-contained Cottage available for Holidays with self catering facilities and sleeping up to 5 people on 2 floors. There is a comfortable sitting area with a Kitchen with gas hob and microwave oven/grill, all crockery and utensils plus a shower room and toilet and a secluded garden to relax in, and off road parking. We have a lovely spa swimming pool in the main garden with terrace area, sun loungers, table and chairs and a barbecue. We offer the Gite for rental at €350 per week. We also have further accommodation offering Bed and Breakfast and sleeping up to 5 with full disabled facilities including shower and toilets. We offer this complete with breakfast for 25€ per person per night and half price for children under 12. We offer a home cooked Evening meal available to all our Guests at a reasonable price

We have accommodation offering Bed and Breakfast and sleeping up to 5 people with a King size bed on the ground floor and 3 single beds on a Mezzanine floor above. There are Full Disabled Facilities including showers, toilets etc. We offer this complete with breakfast at 25€ per person per night, Children under 12 half price. We offer an optional Evening Meal to all our Guests at a reasonable price All bed linen and towels are provided. [Towels provided are not for use around the pool or to be taken off the property]

La Vigne is in a relaxing peaceful location in a wooded valley with a river bordering the property.To the north are Puy de Fou, a fabulous themed Park and Futuroscope near Poitiers, both within easy reach. To the west there is the coast of the Charente Maritime, with the beautiful old port of La Rochelle and lovely sandy beaches. Just a short distance to the east are the lakes of Central France and the Vienne River with plenty of places for fishing or just relaxing by the water, or if you like something a little more adventurous try some rafting or canoeing. Then to the south and south west is Cognac and the world renowned vineyards of Remy Martin, Martel and Courvoisier to name but a few, There are guided tours of the famous vineyards followed by a tasting of the famous liqueur. All around the area are beautiful villages, stunning Chateaux, rolling countryside and amazing views, all complementing the pretty towns of Ruffec and Mansle and the beautiful city of Angouleme

Relaxing Holiday: Located in a wooded valley in the heart of the Charente countryside we offer the chance of a quiet break away from everything.

Nature and Wildlife: We have deer in the woods around us who come to drink from the river at dawn and dusk, there are also otters and coypu to be seen on the river banks, ..and maybe you will hear a Sanglier roaming in the woods, though they are very shy. We regularly have several Buzzards and sometimes a Red Kite flying overhead, not to mention in spring and Autumn the migrating geese on their flightpath over us which is spectacular to watch.

Activities around us: Without having to get into your car, right on our doorstep there are nature walks around the immediate area through the woodlands, and there are some lovely tracks suitable for cycling around the local countryside and with fishing available just outside the front door with plenty of fish in the river what more could you ask.

Lovely cottage in a charming area with lots of things to see.
Very kind hosts.
We had a wonderful couple of days there. The children loved it (the pool, the dog, the breakfast in the morning, everything).
