While lying on the beach you will have the opportunity to decide which of Protaras' many restaurants you will try that evening, all within walking distance. Protaras is the place to try freshly grilled fish in one of the open-air seafood restaurants or take your pick from several international cuisines including Thai, Italian, and many others. Also, while lying on the beach, you may partake in the vast range of water sports available, including parasailing, windsurfing, diving, snorkelling, jet-skis and waterskiing. We highly recommend Stavros Water Sports located right on Fig Tree Bay beach. Since the beaches, restaurants, shops, etc. are all within walking distance a car is not required. However if you do have a car you can explore the surrounding picturesque villages and really experience warm Cypriot hospitality.
Ayia Napa-Cape Greco:
For a little excitement, Ayia Napa is a 10-minute drive away, with its many clubs, bars, restaurants, Luna parks and the largest themed water park in Europe - Water World. Enjoy daily boat rides from Ayia Napa out into the inviting Mediterranean Sea then relax on golden sandy beaches, lapped by crystal clear turquoise waters and enjoy wonderful sunsets and sunrises while picnicking. Even closer than Ayia Napa is Cape Greco, a national park and one of the islands most beautiful and stunning natural landscapes with its natural bays and sea caves. Explore Cape Greco by hiking, biking, or walking along nature trails of wild flora and fauna. Stop to listen to the waves crash against the cliff faces of and feel the tension leave your body. It is also possible to swim among the caves at the bottom of the cape. The spot is very popular with deep-sea fishermen, scuba divers and snorkellers.
