Photos and Description of this Krakow holiday apartment Between Kazimierz and the Old Town. Ideal for all City attractions

Our apartment is on the first floor of a typical Polish town house that dates back to 1889. It is in the historic Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz and little more than 10 minutes walk from City’s central square. The apartment comprises of two bedrooms a bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen with living area. The 1st bedroom has two single beds plus a good sofa bed that will sleep two people. There is satellite TV and a DVD player. The 2nd room has a large double bed. The bathroom has a large shower and washing machine. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven, hob and cooker hood. There is also filtered drinking water on tap, a fridge and freezer. There is a large table and six comfortable chairs. We use the apartment regularly ourselves and we very much intend it to be a home from home for our guests. We want all our guests to get the most from their stay and offer a personalised service. This is not part of a chain or multi unit letting business.

The apartment is very conveniently located on the City Centre side of the Jewish Quarter, Kazimierz, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Szeroka Street, made in Stephen Spielberg’s film Schindlers List is under 2 minutes’ walk. Nearby Plac Nowy has an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants that will suit every taste. Krakow’s castle, the Wawel, is under ten minutes’ walk as is the River Wisla. Europe’s largest city square is about 10 minute's walk. In the Square is the famous Sukenice where traders sell all types of gifts and jewellery including Poland’s famous Baltic amber. Around the sides of the square are many restaurants and bars; great for people watching. During December Krakow's famous Christmas market may also be found here. Transport links to the apartment are excellent; with bus and tram stops very near and provide direct links to the Railway Station, around the City and beyond. Krakow is a great City to walk around. The apartment is so well located that you just won't need a car.

Beyond Krakow: The apartment is very conveniently located for you to travel to places such as the Wieliczka Salt Mine, Auschwitz or Zakopane. Regular buses or trains run to these attractions and more. Public transport is cheap in Poland. The bus to Zakopane costs about £5. A tram ticket in Krakow is about 60p.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites: In 1978 UNESCO designated the first ever World Heritage Sites. There were only 12 in the World. The Historic Centre of Krakow and the Salt Mine at Wieliczka were two of them! A year later the Nazi Concentration Camp at Auschwitz was designated. In 1999 Kalwaria Zebrzydowska spiritual park followed. To have four such places on your doorstep is unique and makes Krakow a very special place to visit.

Superb time in Krakow

Review Submitted: March 7, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
From start to finish our stay was excellent. James the owner was extremely helpful giving is lots of information about the apartment and the City of Krakow, including a lot that just doesn’t appear in the guidebooks. Communications were excellent. We opted to use public transport from the airport to get a flavour of the place, it was very easy with James’s instructions and dropped us right outside. Upon our arrival there was tea and coffee for us. The apartment was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It really is as well equipped as your own home, with a full kitchen that’s better than mine! The description on the advert does not do it justice. There was a good guidebook and lots of other information from both the owner and other guests so we really were able to get into Krakow’s heart. Kazimierz district was great and only a minute’s walk from the front door. Try Plac Nowy for the markets, bars (some are lit by candles and oil lamps) and restaurants, you just want to go back there. The Central Square is an easy stroll too, but we found it rather over run with tourists and great gaggles of school children on organised visits. The Castle has great views over the river and the City. With the owner’s guidance we made our own way to Zakopane and the salt mine at Wieliczka. Far better than an organised coach trip and far cheaper too! The apartment is in an excellent location. We never wished we had a car and walked many places, but with the trams so convenient and cheap we used them too.
We can’t wait to go back to Krakow and will definitely stay in this apartment again when we do. Thank you!

Exellent place to stay in the heart of Krakow

Review Submitted: July 28, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The apartment in Krakow could not have been in a better location, on the Jewish Quarters but just a few minutes walking distance from probable the most beautiful square in Europe. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, a fully equipped kitchen, even though we did not use it so much as food was so cheep at the restaurants we couldn't bother cooking. There was a good guidebook and lots of other information from both the owner and other guests, and I suggest you read the guest book, there are some valuable tips in there too.
The Wawel Castle must not be missed. With the owner’s guidance we made our own way to the salt mine at Wieliczka getting the minibuses straight there and back, It was a wonderful experience down in the mines. We drove to Zakopane but you could easily get there by coach, its a place not to be missed, the mountains are wonderful. Something out of the normal is a visit to Nova Huta with the Crazy Communist Guides they pick you up from the apartment in their Trabant cars and take you to Nova Huta the rest is for you to explore but it is highly recommended, and by the way they take you back to the apartment in one piece.
Booking the flat was easy and Jim the owner was very helpful communication was first class. We would definitely recommend the apartment.

Ideal Location and base to explore Krawow

Dave, Steph & Avi Arncott, Oxfordshire
Review Submitted: June 26, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Stayed early May '09, and have to say this apartment is perfect. This was our 4th visit to Krakow and this is by far the best place we have stayed. The flat is situated in the heart of the Jewish Quarter and surrounded by numerous restaurants, bars, shops, and tourist "attractions" such as museums and Synagogues and areas related to the Ghetto. If you have an interest in WW2 then here you will be living in a residential area where numerous events occurred, we watched Schindlers List on DVD whilst there and you realise how much was actually filmed locally. We recommend picking up an "In Your Pocket" guide book for about 5 Zloty (£1.00) from Tourist Info or from some bars/restaurants, it's full of things to do, where to go, how to get there and is updated every month or 2 with the latest cultural events, exhibitions etc, a very useful guide to Krakow indeed. Booking the flat was easy and Jim the owner is very knowledgeable on the area and recommended some great bars/cafes/shops etc. We would definitely recommend the apartment and will stay there again, it's clean, spacious, quiet, and easy to get to all parts of Krakow with a 10 minute or so walk into the centre of Krakow or 30 seconds to the first of many Squares in Kazimierz.
