GRANADA AND ALHAMBRA

Granada dominates its fertile plain, coronated by the Sierra Nevadas and fortified by the Alhambra. The city bears the Genil and Darro rivers, which run through the centre, dividing the two hills of the Alhambra and Albayzin. Granada is a mix of old Iberian, Roman and Islamic cultures in a truly privileged setting. In the Islamic Albayzin and Sacromonte one can enjoy flamenco and folklore festivals. Though Granada is a historic treasure, it does not lack modern culture with a university and administrative and commercial centres. Shopping – The Granadian shopper can enjoy a wide variety of styles, from the chic fashion of Europe to the traditional art and handicrafts of the Middle East. The narrow pedestrian streets and plazas are filled with cafés and restaurants making for an exceptional spree or outing.

COAST LINE

Beach: Only 45 minutes (60 km.) south of Granada you find a beautiful coastline, Salobreña, Nerja, Almuñecar, where you can have a wonderful bath in the Mediterranean Sea. Alpujarra Mountains: On the south side of Sierra Nevada, you find the villages of the Alpujarras, with wonderful views from the mountain to the Mediterranean Sea, with ancient culture and traditions. Wonderful artisans and gastronomy.

ADVENTURE

Mountain Biking – In the Sierra Nevadas and surrounding mountains there are biking trails stretching to the coast of Almuñecar. These trails have hosted numerous international competitions. Canyoning – In Granada there are various rivers in the Sierra Nevadas in which you can enjoy jumping, rappelling, swimming and sliding. This is a very popular activity in the summer. Hot air balloon – Enjoy an exceptional view of Granada and the Alhambra Palace from a hot air balloon. Mountaineering - Mulhacén in the Sierra Nevadas, is the highest altitude on the Iberian Pennisula, with a height of 3,480 meters. Thanks to the good weather in the winter one can take part in alpine sports such as ice climbing.

Skiing Information:

Skiing. Granada is home to the Sierra Nevadas which has the best snow and the longest season in the country. One can look forward to five months of snow. The Sierra Nevadas have 61km of ski slopes with 45 pistes and 6 off-piste routes.

Golf Information:

3 golf courses in 7 km range from the house. All of them with 18 holes.
