Bonnieux holiday house

We spent a lovely 2 weeks in this excellently kept house. As commented in other reviews the aspect from the house is wonderful & the furnishings are so fine that one needs to be careful with toddlers who might not fully appreciate their delicacy ! The kitchen is very well equipped, though no microwave could be found. Maria & Petite, who look after the house, could not have been better.
Personally I would not recommend this property for families with children under 4 or for adults who had any degree of immobility because there are a lot of steps,both inside & outside the house, & the pool itself is at a much lower level & quite a distance from the house in terms of toddler minding.
We were there for the last week in June & the first week in July 2009 & know the Luberon area very well having stayed there frequently over the years.

What a place! This is honestly the best house we have ever rented in France and we will definitely return.

Outside: the view is impossibly beautiful, you could never have enough of sitting and staring. The setting is a paradise of silence, vineyards, cherry trees and lavender bushes...not to mention the very best sunsets! The full size trampoline in the shade next to the swimming pool meant our children were in heaven constantly and no arguments about getting out of the pool and sun for a while!

Inside: the house has been done so beautifully that I found myself taking photos of the rooms to take some ideas home! It is so lovely to find a rental home that oozes style and beauty inside as well as out and so rare. On a practical level it is a real home from home with everything you could ever want, it is worth knowing that there are steep stone steps between the floors which are a bit tricky with toddlers but we managed it and the only problem we had was leaving at the end of the holiday! The house is beautifully looked after and spotlessly clean so you feel as though you are the only people to have ever stayed there.

Location: Bonnieux, the nearest town, is a really special place, very French, not touristy and with the most fabulous street market that is unmissable. There are numerous hill towns in the surrounding area with breathtaking views of the Luberon. We hadn't explored this part of Provence before and found it to be unspoilt and stunning.

Overall this is a simply unbeatable spot from which to explore this wonderful region of France. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we did.
