In the heart of Languedoc, France’s largest wine producing area, you will find the pretty medieval village of Caussiniojouls, which is situated at the first foot hills of the Cévennes, surrounded by vineyards and with beautiful views over the plains down to the Mediterranean coast. It is also 1 of the 7 villages that make up the Faugères Appellation area so there is no shortage of wine tasting here! Within our recently renovated 'Maison Vigneronne' we have a self-contained apartment which sleeps 6 people. The accommodation retains many of its original features such as exposed beams, French windows and decorative floor tiles in the living room. From the living room you walk out onto a small terrace where you can enjoy an evening tipple or two as the sun disappears for the day! All in all your stay here will allow you to enjoy the true character of this wonderful region........ and experience real French life!

Situated on the edge of the Haut-Langeudoc Regional Park, Caussiniojouls is ideally situated for those who like walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding. For those who prefer water why not kayak on the River Orb, visit the beaches at Valros, Vendres, Sérignan, Portirangnes, the vibrant fishing port of Séte, the beautiful Lac Salagou or just stroll along the Canal du Midi all within 30 mins or so. There are plenty of nearby places to visit such as the 13th century town of Pézenas with its weekly Saturday market, the spa town of Lamalou-les-Bains which has a golf course, the market town of Bédarieux or the Cathedral city of Béziers, to name but a few. A little further a field you will find the fairy-tale medieval walled city of Carcassone, the number 1 tourist attraction in France, the charming city of Montpellier with its narrow alleys and stone arches, the Pont du Gard a Unesco World Heritage site near Nîmes - and many more.

Further Information

The village has its own tennis court and Pétanque and there is a swimming pool at the local campsite which is about 3km away. There are no local shops in the village but you can find them in Laurens about 5 km away. Bread is delivered daily except Mondays.

Eating out

The closest restaurants being:- Bel Air at Faugères 3km, 3 in Hérépian and 7 in Bédarieux about 10 mins away and Chateau Grezan situated just outside Laurens.
