Excellent accommodation and hostess

D. MacArthur British Columbia, Canada
Review Submitted: September 4, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
My wife and I and our 3 teenage children stayed at Ochil Cottage for a week and enjoyed the experience immensely. The house was clean, well kept, spacious and had all we needed. It was also in a central location with easy access to many historic sites like Stirling Castle, the Bruce and Wallace Monuments and various historic battle fields. It is also an easy drive to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, the highlands and more. Our hostess Anne was both gracious and accommodating. If you're looking for a pleasant and relaxing place to stay and something that's close to everything yet very quiet and private, this is a great choice.
Owner's Response: it was very nice to have this lovely family here to stay, and so glad
they enjoyed there time in scotland, and hope to see them again
if they come to scotland

Excellent for family and Highlands visit

Andi-44 Heidelberg,Germany
Review Submitted: September 13, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
In August/September 2009 I lived for 2 weeks with my wife and our 3 children (5,9,11 years old) in this very comfortable cottage with plenty enough space for all of us. The house is clean, served all our needs very good and reality equals the listing description. The nearby public football sports ground for kids and the range land in front of the cottage with horses were very attractive for our children. Looking at horses from your kitchen during preparing the morning coffee is a good experience.
The cottage's geographical location is ideal for visting all of the most prominent tourist attractions of scotland by car. We enjoyed the Highlands nature and culture (lots of amazing castles and the famous highland games) and drove by car though a group a lions and feeled like in South Africa's Krüger Park. We searched for the monster Nessy in the Loch Ness and feeled like beeing Christopher Lambert in the film 'Highlander' when visiting Isle of Sky and the castle which served as main location for this film. We were very impressed by the famous Braemer Highland Games (1.Saturday each September) and even welcomed the Queen with 'God save the Queen' at this special event.
==> I highly recommend this cottage.
Here are some details on our visits and driving distance experience: Stirling(10Min), Safari Park(20Min), Edingburg(40Min), Glasgow (40Min), Loch Lomond(40Min) , Loch Katrin(40Min), Queens View and Blair Athol(60Min), St.Andrews (70Min), Loch Ness and the Monster(120Min), Ben Nevis(120Min), Isle of Sky(some hrs), Braemer highland games(120Min)

a dream in the heart of scotland

hnbjoern Brandenburg, Germany
Review Submitted: June 30, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
The cottage is in excellent condition, clean and with tasteful interior. There is space for at least two cars on the courtyard. The landscape around the cottage is quiet, with paddocks and a golf course. The next market (Tesco) is in Stirling - 10 mins by car.
Anne, the proprietor, is very kind and helps you get along in Stirling.
We were visiting Stirling castle and the Wallace Monument (both in Stirling), Edinburgh and Glasgow (both app. 45 min by car). The Firth of Forth, the Falkirk-Wheel and the 'highlandish' areas north of stirling (I don't think that's already the 'real' highlands, but to me, it looks very similiar) are just 20 minutes away - by car.
I can recommend the cottage to anyone.

Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert.
Owner's Response: thankyou for your kind words i am so pleased you had a good holiday hope to see you again some day

A very nice house in the middle of Scotland

LUIS F. ALBACETE, ESPAÑA
Review Submitted: September 28, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
In September four spanish friends traveled to Scotland, and we stayed in the Ochill Cottage.
The house is very nice and cozy, has everything you need. Everything is very clean and the house is very broad. It has a huge garden. It is a lovely site.
It's a very quiet and is very well situated for travel to the country's most important sites.
The residents of Bannockburn are very nice, we spent a very enjoyable night at a bar with live music.
The owner is very nice and helped us in all that we ask for.
It is a perfect place to spend a wonderful holiday touring Scotland.
we´ll recommend to everybody.
On our next trip to Scotland we´ll going to visit this house again.

Bannockburn cottage

mum 1 Vancouver B.C. Canada
Review Submitted: August 23, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Our family of 7 stayed in this charming historic cottage for almost 2 weeks. We found it to be well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We were welcomed with tea and coffee and soon settled in. The little town of Bannockburn is a short walk away, and nearby Stirling a short bus ride. The surrounding country has many walking trails and is very picturesque. The owner was extremely helpful and hospitable. We hope to connect with this rental place again on our next trip.
Owner's Response: just to say it was lovely to have the family here and hope
they may be back some time it is so nice meeting peaple
from all parts of the world
