This beautiful house of character has been tastefully converted to make it a comfortable holiday home. It is located in the centre of Malta in the quiet village of Lija. This village is highly sought after by both the Maltese and overseas people who want to reside in Malta. It is very close to the public transport and is right in the historic centre of the village, close to the village square where one can find the Belveder tower, the church and other places of interest. Come and relax in Malta. You will immediately feel part of the Maltese culture. Live among the Maltese and enjoy excursions to the old capital of Mdina, the present capital city of Valletta, the historic temples and lots of other places of interest. This house of character is located in a small square close to all amenities. There is a nice terrace where you can enjoy the sun or you can just go by bus (one bus) to the sandy beaches of Mellieha or Ghadira. This house is truly Maltese, truly Mediterranean.

Nearest Ferry: Lija at 6 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 4.0 Kilometres

Lija is centrally located. Close by there are the gardens of San Anton and the residential place of the President. Within 30 minutes, one is in the capital city of Valletta which includes many historic places such as the Cathedral of St John, the Auberges, the Barakka gardens and lots of other places of interest. Sliema is modern with a long promenade along the sea. It can be reached either by bus or by car. It takes only a few minutes to get there by car. The beaches are also not far away. You can choose either a rocky beach or a sandy beach. You can also enjoy the marine park where you can swim with the dolphins. If you prefer golf or horse riding you can go to Marsa. Since Lija is very central, nowhere is far. The direction you take depends on your tastes. If you prefer to swim, you head North. If you prefer to see historic places you head to Valletta or you go South. Ta' Qali, the crafts village is also a stone's throw away. You can also enjoy a meal, al fresco in the old capital.

Situated right in the middle of Malta, this house is in an ideal location to provide easy access all over the island. Away from tourist hot spots like Paceville, in the quiet town of Lija, this house gives the resident an authentic feel for Malta. Furthermore it is only a 10min walk away from a large supermarket and 2 mins away from a bus stop. The house itself is large and spacious with a balcony that is perfect to enjoy a local beer on in the evenings. I really enjoyed my time in the house and felt more like a resident than a tourist. If I come back to Malta it is definitely somewhere I would be interested in staying again.

Lovely House Right in the Heart of Malta

I stayed in this house for three weeks in August 2008. The house is located in Hal-Lija, right in the middle of Malta, which makes it the perfect location because whether you want to head to the north or to the south, east or west of the island, no better place than to be within reasonable distance from the main spots, sandy beaches, historical places (Mdina just 10 minutes away by transport), ferry terminal to either Gozo or Comino, the airport, Valleta. The bus stop is just two minutes away walking and you can get buses that get you basically anywhere in the island.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxed place to stay, far from the typical tourist locations like Paceville, St. Julians, St. Paul's Bay, Buggiba or Qawra, then the town of Lija is the right place to be. Having less than 3,000 inhabitants, this small village is very quiet, specially at night, when a proper rest is needed.

The actual house is recently refurbished and all the furniture is new. The kitchen is massive, located in the ground floor is perfect for big families, the big table and the sofa, plus the TV and DVD makes it a nice gathering place for the guests. There are four bedrooms, the bed was very comfortable, a big wardrobe, a big mirror, a complete bedroom indeed. One of the bedroom is en-suite and there are two other main bathrooms. On the top floor, one of the bedrooms has a lovely balcony which is ideal to get some Maltese breeze at night. Summing up, the house is a very pleasant accommodation, specially for families.

I really enjoyed to stay in this accommodation and if I go back to Malta one day I would not hesitate in staying there again.
