Gloucestershire Cotswolds holiday cottage: Cirencester

It is always difficult to find a quality accommodation (right price, right quality) in England. We fuond this property through holiday-rentals and approached the agent, a very pleasant person to deal with! The responses were quick and professional and we booked the cottage without a hitch over internet.

When we actually arrived, everything was taken care of, no missing keys/wrong locks or other nightmares..

The property is located in Cotswold area, about 15-20 mins drive away from Cirencester and right opposite to Cotswold Water Park. You do need a car to get around from here, but all key Cotswold attractions (and even London) are within 50-100 miles distance (read 1-3 hr driving time). So, we had a perfect home base for our day trips for the week.

The property itself is very pretty, sunny, right on the lake shores and very quiet. There is a big hall with comfortable sofas and a functioning entertainment system (with a good selection of DVDs to watch). There is a good collection of books to read (including one on Cotswold!). The kitchen has all the basic utensils and a dish washer plus some basic cooking ingrdients.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, two with double bunk beds, one guest bedroom with a queen bed and one master bedroom with a kingsize bed and attached bathroom.

There is also a separate bathroom w tub that is accessible to all upstairs and there is a sink+WC on ground level as well. All appliances worked well (Washing machine, steaming iron etc).

There were eight of us and we didn't feel cramped at all. In the mornings, it was very pleasant to wake up to the sounds of birds and ducks/swans were regular visitors to our deck. They are friendly, just be careful about not feeding them fast food... :)

The area is within a gated community, so we felt safe. The lawns are well maintained for a nice game of frisbee, football or even mini cricket!

We liked this place a lot and would definitely book it again!
