Superbly appointed 3 bed, 2 bath penthouse at the up-and-coming Roda Golf and Beach Resort. Fully air-conditioned and centrally heated, with satellite TV and DVD and fully appointed kitchen. Golf on the doorstep, beach, bars and restaurants less than 5 minutes away. The penthouse benefits from a spacious roof terrace. The beach is close by. And there are many activities in the area (apart from the other 10 golf courses in the region!), including: - the prestigious La Manga Club less than 30km away - the beach and water sports of the Mar Menor (less than 5 minutes away) - the local town of Los Alcazares with a traditional spanish feel, and plenty of bars and restaurants - the regional towns of Cartagena and Murcia within 30 minutes' drive, with a wealth of shopping, history and culture - other family activities such as quad biking, horse riding, paint balling or even a trip to the thalasia spas in San Pedro.

Los Alcazares is situated in the Murcia region of south-eastern Spain, also known as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the western shore of the Mar Menor, a lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga. The area enjoys an average of 320 days of sunshine each year and the water is always warmer than the Mediterranean Sea. Bars, cafes and restaurants are all around and the town still has thermal baths which have existed since Roman times. Throughout the year, the area offers boundless opportunities for sports and other activities. The old Roman town of Cartagena is 15 minutes away, with plenty of shops, the harbour and the Roman Amphitheatre. The regional capital of Murcia is under half an hour with further shopping, the cathedral and plenty of traditional Spanish culture (including an active Plaza del Toros!)

My husband and myself spent a very relaxing and enjoyable month in this lovely apartment. It was the first time we had ever done anything like this and it was great. The apartment met all our needs and was very homely.
The restaurant on site was exceptionally good. The owner gave us lots of useful information on restaurants, other local eateries, markets etc. and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Our small dog felt quite at home too.
Another plus was the location. A few minutes form the seafront and also the ease of access to other interesting towns and villages. We have already recommended this apartment to several of our friends. A great place to stay.

Great apartment and exceptional service

We booked at short notice, and unusually the owner was willing to be reasonable and do us a deal. He was helpful with all our questions and gave us lots of good advice about things like deals on hire cars, restaurants, places to go, etc. It actually felt like he cared for whether we had a good time.

The apartment itself is just fantastic - furnished just like a family home with English TV, 6 great beds and a roof terrace that looks out to the sea and the mountains. I couldn't say there was anything we wanted in the apartment that we couldn't find.

In terms of location, the golf course is just fantastic, and it can only get better as it beds in. And La Manga is only 25 minutes away. The beach was surprisingly close by. It wasn't crowded and there are some lovely chiringuitos down there for a drink and snack. The local town's full of character with supermarkets, etc, and there are some great restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Though we liked the clubhouse so much that we just ate in there every night. Right on the doorstep and plenty of variety!

To cap it all, we arrived late at night so it was especially nice to get to the apartment within 20 minutes of the plane actually hitting the ground (including collecting luggage!) - and then to be met by someone, given the key, shown around the apartment, and then shown the contents of a fridge full of stuff for the following morning. What a welcome.

I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. We will be going back twice this year, I'm sure.

Fantastic place to stay

Hi, we came accross this apartment on the holiday letting website and contacted the owner, He was extremely friendly and gave us all the information we needed about the property and the surrounding location. We arrived to find a modern very clean and spacious apartment and even when we had bad weather for a few days it was a nice comfortable place to relax, with a choice of dvds, cds and many articles on the murcia region. Which was very helpful. I definintly would return here and i cant wait till its booked again..... hopefuly soon.
