Further details for this holiday house rental in Aimargues, France

We have a small free form pool which measures approximately 3x 4 meters. The intimate courtyard - 125m2- , which is not overlooked, is completely private and quiet, surrounded by old stone walls. Climbing honeysuckle, vines and bamboo cool the atmosphere and provide a pretty backdrop day or night. The nearest bakery is footsteps away and we're often woken to the smell of freshly baked bread, but further up the road there is also an excellent butcher and a wonderful greengrocer with lots of fresh local produce. There's a very colourful market in the shade of the plane trees every Sunday morning. The house is child friendly with high stone walls totally impenetrable from the outside world and the nearby vineyards which surround the village make for excellent walks. Further afield the nearest beaches are just 15 kms away. We're also just 5 mins drive from the nearest motorway exit making Nimes and Montpellier just 20 and 25 mins away respectively

Other Activities: Camargue festivals, Montpellier dance ans symphony festivals, Jazz at Junas.

October break in Aimargue house

Review Submitted: November 5, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We thought the house was in very good condition, well maintained, clean, comfortable. The outdoor area is also nice and private, while still being in the village. The proximity to basic shops was very good, as well as to other scenic towns and other places of interest. The owners were helpful in terms of the information provided, as well as being contactable. They were pleasant as well, and there was a nice (and much welcomed) surprise awaiting when we arrived late at night, after our flight and drive from Marseilles. The house is also quite easy to find, which is a definite advantage when traveling a long distance with small children. Am considering trying to stay there again on a future trip.

Review Submitted: November 5, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
The house was fantastic - it felt very spacious even with 2 families inside, 4 adults and 4 children. The house is recently renovated, full of light, even in the evening, thanks to quite smart lighting. All rooms are large, as well as the kitchen, which has a good sized table, in addition to a very large one in the dining room! The back yard is very sunny and good for a meal outside, although we did not use it much due to unusually cold weather. You can park one or two cars inside if you want, but not really necessary - parking on the boulevard under the trees is very easy.

The town is very nice and quiet, with everything literally next door – bakery, grocery, butcher, post. There is a supermarket in the town, and many more within short driving range. Within less than 1 hour driving distance there many nice places to visit – Camargue national park with flamingos, wild white horses (and domestic ones to ride), black bulls and Ornithological Centre. Must see places are towns of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Aigues-Mortes, castle-town Les Baux-de-Provence, stunning Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard. It seems that on almost every week-end there is a festival in one of the places around, with fair and bull running. The landlady was very helpful and knowledgeable about local landmarks and life, in case you have questions.

We did not have enough time to see everything we discovered, so looking forward to coming back and experience more sun, beaches, Roman arenas in Nimes and Arles, and more.

Holiday 2008

TMB Village
Review Submitted: November 23, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The house is a delight. The directions for getting there were accurate and easy to follow. The property was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The only blip there was the bed proped up with books which apparently was rather uncomfortable.
There is lots of comfortable seating in the house and good spaces to eat as a family. We all like to cook and the kitchen is very well equipped with a fan assisted oven and a dish washer.
The court yard with the little pool is the best feature with an outside table that comfortably accomodates 10. The court yard has sun all day but there is also shade. Some more things to streach out on would have been good.
The local supermarket is very adequate with delicious cheeses and a good selection of fish and open Sunday mornings!
Taxis were not available at the train station for transport to the property. A car is essential. Parking is easy in the beautiful tree lined avenue. The village is delightful and the neighbours are very nice and helpful.
We did very little travelling around but found a helpful tourist information center. There is an old walled city to visit about 20-30 minutes drive. One of the shops there sells the best biscuts in the world. Sorry vague on details writing this a few months after the visit.
There did not appear to be a lot to do in the village but as a family we didn't need any entertainment. 9 adults shared the house. The property was perfect for our needs which were to just to have the space to be together without being on top of one another, eat lots of local food and drink the wine.
I would definately recommend the property to a friend.
