La Colina is a beautiful two storey Country House, situated in the mountains. Five minutes drive from Competa with easy access off a new tarmac road. Private heated pool (all year round) situated between mature terraced garden and orchard. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms (two en suite) plus one detached en suite bedroom adjacent to the west facing terrace. Master bedroom has balcony and private terrace. The house would also be perfect for people wanting to escape during the winter, it is extremely comfortable, has a fireplace and central heating. Perfect base for walkers, artists, and those of you just wanting a rest by a swimming pool. Restaurants, supermarkets etc close by in the beautiful white washed village of Competa. Fully fitted kitchen, dining room and sitting room with fireplace, TV, Video and library (incl. videos). Basic SKY TV channels. Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer. BBQ and outside eating area. Cómpeta is fascinating to explore with its labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets that date back to Moorish times. Its' main centre, the Plaza Almijara, is dominated by a magnificent sixteenth century church. This bustling square is one of the best places to enjoy a break with a choice of several bars and restaurants. Cómpeta is best known to many for its locally produced wine. The area surrounding the town is spectacular and there are many varied walks through the National Park (five minutes by car). There is a golf course, shopping centre and cinema complex within thirty minutes. The magnificent Alhambra Palace in Granada is only an hour and a half from Competa by motorway, or two hours, through beautiful white washed villages. Nerja, only twenty minutes drive, has a beautiful beach with open air restaurants all along the sea front. There are guided walking tours, riding stables, spectacular views, and beautiful drives all around the area. The area is a true rest cure!

Additional information about rental rates

  • CANCELLATION RIGHTS & SECURITY DEPOSIT

    50% of the cost of the rental period is due on confirmation of booking, the remaining 50% (plus the security deposit) is due 60 days before the booking starts. If the booking is accepted less than 60 days before the arrival date, the entire rental is due.

    A security deposit of £200 will be due 60 days before the start of the rental period, this deposit will be returned within 30 days of leaving the property. It is in place to cover any damage, or excessive use of laundry etc (one set of sheets and pillowcases, bath towel and swimming pool towel is supplied per week).

    Cancellation rights: If the villa is damaged in anyway, or we are unable to house you, whatever has been paid by you will be refunded in full. If you cancel, the deposit will be retained if over 8 weeks before the start of the rental period and full payment if under 8 weeks.
  • INSURANCE

    Bookings are accepted on condition that at least one member of the party is 25 or over. This person will be in charge of the party and will act as keyholder (party leader). The house and contents are insured as long as all doors and windows are locked when the house is unoccupied i.e. if tenants go out to dinner, or on day trips to the beach.

    If any of contents are stolen, or damaged, while the house is unsecured it is the complete responsibility of the tenant and will be claimed from the party leader's insurance.

  • The master bathroom has a bath level window with south facing view of mountain down to the sea. There is also a hairdryer in this bathroom and a hair spray attached to the bath. The detached bedroom has a bathroom up one step in the same room. One of the twin rooms has an ensuite bathroom and the other has an adjacent shower room.

  • Four bedrooms with three ensuite bathrooms and one adjacent shower room. The Master bedroom takes up the entire 1st floor and has a private south west balcony and north east facing terrace. The second double room is detached from the villa and situated at the end of the main terrace facing west. The twin rooms are opposite each other one the ground floor. The house sleeps 8 but is more comfortable for 6 people as the twin rooms are smaller than the double rooms. Bedrooms have wooden shutters, fans and mosquito blinds. Duvets and blankets supplied in the winter months.

Notes: The swimming pool is 8m x 4m and is heated throughout the year, for those of you wanting to escape for some winter sun. Last year it was so hot at New Year that we swam in an unheated pool! It is situated below the house down a parth of approx. 12 steps. There is a tiled path through the orchard. The house is not really suitable for children under the age of six, this is because the pool is not fully enclosed. Also, there is only a rope as a handrail (i.e it is not fully enclosed) up to the master bedroom. However, please ring if you have children who you feel would be fine under these conditions and as long as we have assurance that children will be properly supervised, we can be more relaxed over the age rule. During the winter months central heating is included in the cost.

Perfect Villa for a Perfect Holiday!

Our first time at La Colina did not disappoint. A beautiful and very stylish villa with a spectacular panorama, yet comfortable, homely and peaceful too. The views are stunning and we all loved the pool which being on a lower level works perfectly for those wanting a swim and those wanting a siesta on the terrace!!. A hire car for this villa and area is a must with Competa a short drive away (we tended to eat here a lot in the evening) and the Torrox coast around 30mins. However, we recommend that you do an extra 5-10mins in the car and head out to Nerja.

Having stayed at a number of rental properties we have no problem in saying this without doubt was the best. It is the simple things such as the instruction on how to get to the villa and the support from the local property services company employed as caretakers (we left items and they were retrieved and sent on) that make these sort of holidays trouble free. We had a fantastic holiday here and would highly recommend it with a 5 star rating.

We had a fantastic time at La Colina. The Villa was beautifully presented and everything myself and my family were hoping for. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet surroundings and very private setting - not at all overlooked. We all loved the pool, with wonderfull views accross the valley.
The pool gets sun from around 09:30 in the morning until 20:30 in the evening, with plenty of poolside furniature and parasols to keep you very comfortable.
The access road is fully tarmaced, which appears to be unusual in this area and presented no problems at all.
The facilities within the Villa were excellent - with all the rooms immaculately presented - making for a very comfortable stay.
Dish washer - washing machine etc made for an easy life.
The master bedroom was massive, with a tremendous walk in shower, and a bath from where you can gaze down the valley - very relaxing.
We found it increadibly easy to while away two weeks with relatively little sight seeing, excursions etc as we all enjoyed being around the villa so much.
A car is essential, as the villa is a bit off the beaten track - which for us was ideal - just what we like!!
We can thoroughly recommend La Colina for those wishing to spend a holiday - chilling out in beautiful / comfortable surroundings.
