Fully restored ancient loggers cottage set against the hillside in the Morvan Natural Parc, Burgundy. Secluded but not remote with lovely views. Minutes drive from all amenities but only one hour from the vineyards of Beaune and Chablis. The cottage has retained its character with oak beams, granite walls and huge fireplace with logburner. Sitting room has comfortable seating for 6, dining table/chairs. Antique dresser,selection of games, books and magazines. TV, DVD, CD and radio. Kitchen: 4 ring cooker oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine. Separate WC Shower room: sink, shower enclosure, storage cupboard, hairdryer, washing machine. Bed 1. Double bed, large wardrobe, chest of drawers. Bed 2. 3/4 antique bed, bunks, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Both rooms have bedside tables and lamps. To the front is a garden with lawn, lovely views. Rear small private terrace with access to logging trails and forest walks. Stone barbecue, outdoor furniture and loungers.

Loggers Cottage is deceptively spacious with a lovely sitting/dining room and comfortable seating for 6.Two seater sofa and 2 armchairs and sofabed. There is a antique dresser with books and games and a TV with satellite, DVD and CD player with radio. Plenty of magazines [mostly girly] The kitchen is small but contains almost everything you need with plenty of dishes and utensils. 4 ring cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and cafetiere. There is a cloakroom area leading to a shower room with shower cubicle, washbasin and washing machine. Iron and board and hairdryer. Separate WC. Upstairs the landing leads to 2 bedrooms Bedroom 1 Double bed bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Bedroom 2 3/4 antique bed and bunks, wardrobe and chest of drawers.Bedside tables and lamps.

Within one hours drive of Loggers Cottage are Beaune and Chablis and the wine routes of Burgundy taking you through the many towns and hamlets whose names are known around the world as so many of them are famous Burgundy wines. We can tailor a full day wine tasting tour including lunch and without the worry of driving. Dijon, Autun, Bibracte, Canal du Nivernais, Auxerre, Chateau du Bazoches, Abbey at Tanlay are all worth visiting. Within 30 mins drive - Avallon a lovely old town with ancient ramparts but has a large supermarket where you can get anything from a fridge to fishing bait. Saulieu, Lac de Settons, Lac de Pannaciere, Vezelay fabulous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Maison de Parc Within ten mins Quarre les Tombes this is a lively village with twice weekly market, resuarants, bars and a chocolate shop, Rouvray, Lac St Agnan, St Leger Vauban with a small shop and cafe and 'interesting' bar. In the forest is the Abbe de Pierre Qui Vire with a large permanent community of monks.

    We ask for a security deposit of £100 on booking. Balance + £100 cleaning and breakage deposit payable 4 weeks before arrival.[this is refunded within 2 weeks from the end of your holiday provided the property is left in the same condition as when you arrived].
    Arrival time after 4pm. Departure before 10am.
    Prices include electricity.
    There is an initial supply of logs and more if needed can be provided at cost.
    The stairs are fairly steep and although the lavoir in front is not deep it is unfenced as is the driveway so care is needed with young children.
    Pets are welcome but we would prefer them downstairs.
    For fully catered or any combination, prices on application.

There is a travel cot available
