Situated in hills around Pescia the villa affords breathtaking panoramic views. Combining rustic charm with modern convenience the property comprises briefly of 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, dining room and kitchen. Outside there are 2 expansive terraces - one covered for al fresco dining, private pool, pizza oven, olive groves, gardens and ample parking. La Fortezza is suitable for couples and families alike. Childrens facilities include: high-chair, cot with linen, stair-gates, DVD's and toys. La Fortezza provides an idyllic setting for the perfect get away.

La Fortezza - Great holiday

Overall, we had a great holiday in La Fortezza.

The accommodation was of a good standard, and clean. We were able to make good use of the pool and BBQ facilites. The view from the villa was excellent, and one of the best bits of the holiday.

The owner gave good customer service, and Paul the local manager was helpful and friendly.

The negative was the drive up to the villa. This was a 1mile up hill drive, with steep/sharp bends. The last part was on a dirt track. It was a bit tricky, and I definately wouldn't recommend trying it at night - especially on the first evening. Also, some might find it too difficult - and it's quite far to walk! Best done in a small car.

The drive was a negative, but overall, the villa makes up for it. Views were excellent, and we cooked in most nights - using good facilites.

I would recommend this property to a friend.

We have been to this property 4 times and each time we enjoy it more. It is very well maintained and facilities are great. The veiws are spectacular. Pescia is a great town with great resurants and the market on a Saturday is must. There are great walks from the Villa. It has been restored to a very high standed and we hope to spend time there again in the future.

A really excellent family holiday

From the minute we arrived we knew the villa was just what we'd been looking for. The ages of our boys, two at 16, two at 12 meant that we could have been on top of one another but the layout ensured that they each had their own piece of privacy and we had ours. In particular we liked being away from any other property; it was truly private without being too far from food and drink. The younger boys, despite being mid-October, were in the pool every day too. The only thing I would point out is that you should make sure you don't come in too wide a car as the road doesn't lend itself to width. When you get used to it, it's not a problem although I can imagine for those used to straight stretches of city and motorway tarmac, it may give you slight palpitations to begin with. Easy once you get used to it, though.
Worth heading into the medieval villages that you can see atop the nearby hills. Had one of the best Spaghetti Carbonaras I've ever had in my life in a small hilltop town, in a restaurant that didn't even have a menu. Sorry but I can't remember the name of the town, only that we'd turned right at the foot of 'our' hill and this town was several miles further along, up right and then a steep climb upwards. That was half the fun, just driving and seeing what came next.
I have already passed on the property details to friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else looking for a really unique place.

La Fortezza was a beautiful place for our holiday and we long to return to the wonderful scenery and great weather.Fantastic accomodation and location - what more needs to be said.

Lots of R&R in Tuscany

I organised the trip to La Fortezza for three couples. We had the best time; the weather was perfect, the villa was wonderful and the views just spectacular - it was the R&R we had all been looking for - it is so very peaceful there.

The villa is ideally situated within a stones throw of the main town, where you can stock up on groceries, eat out, soak up the local culture and its a short car journey to Luca. We didn't do much sight seeing whilst we were there; our aim was to relax. We stocked the villa with goodies and crashed by the pool, took long walks and enjoyed the views over dinner in the evening.

A truly wonderful get away!!!
