Champex is a picturesque village nestled in the Swiss Alps at a height of 1500 mts part of the Mont Blanc Massif In the French speaking Canton of Valais, Champex is ideally located for easy access to both the French and Italian Alps. It is only a 20 minute drive to the historic town of Martigny that contains the ruins of a roman amphitheatre, the world famous Pierre Gianadda Art Foundation, as well as street cafes and restaurants. If you are planning to come to use Champex as a place to relax and walk in the local mountains trails then using public transport is fine. But if you are planning to explore a wider area or use Champex as a base to ski in Verbier or Chamonix then although it is possible to use public transport a car is highly recommended. Champex is a truly great base to explore this wonderful region.
